Mr Kraft, The Time has Come To Ask: Whose Side Are You On?

I think the Pats should make Helen Reddy's song You and me against the world thier team song kinda like the Pirates did with we are family. And they should play it at the start of every game as the jets do thier fly by.

Whether Kraft says something or not, it doesn't really matter. The country HATES this team because they always win. Kraft saying something just turns this to a bigger deal than it already is. You have to understand everyone just trying to find an excuse to pile on. Let them. Yes it sucks that our team gets no credit after a win, but haters like the Marshall Faulks Kurt Warners and Gregg Doyels of the world are always gonna hate. I personally hope after we hoist our 4th Lombardi, that's when BB and or Kraft addressees this crap and even spygate. A loss in a couple of weeks is just gonna fuel the haters even more...

Considering the fact media day will more than likely be a week from today, I'd rather much this be the topic of conversation going in, rather than you know who who's about to go into trial for murder, especially considering both BB and Kraft are rumored to possibly testify in that case.

Here's my thinking. If the league has a few severly deflated balls - I believe they will say that this is below the norm and that Pats are guilty. What else can they say? Man. What a roller coaster. Spy gate .... The sequel. Wow. Could have never imagined.

Mortensen said "a number of deflated footballs" Makes it sound like its more than a few.

I fear the damage is already done.

There was no way the NFL wanted NE to go 18 - 0 back in 2008 after the accusations of the RAMS walkthrough came out and everyone saw Ref Mike Carey look the other way on the Tyree helmet catch when Eli was in the grasp and one Ginats OL had Seymour in a headlock. I hope this game does not come down to a few plays where the Refs can determine the outcome.

All Kraft talking will do is fan the flames of this story. Best thing to do is keep silent.

You bet, Andy. And from your lips to God's ears. I look forward to your scenario playing out tomorrow or Wednesday.

This thread is a plea to Mr. Kraft to do the right thing on this and not act (lie down) as he did in 2007.
You don't know that handling 2007 differently would have worked out better.

Bob Kraft is probably too busy organizing the send off rally so that he and his girlfriend can invite Politican and Celibrities. He only focuses on positive PR and doesn't want to associate himself with anything negative as it affects his brand name.

Because they will listen to him and he even has a say??

He has no choice in this matter. If the NFL want a prolonged investigation the NFL will HAVE a prolonged investigation.

He can come out and say what he likes. It won't effect the speed of an investigation at all.

If that's the case, he's not doing a good job, because his team is getting venom spewed from every direction by the media over "cheating", instead of focusing on the biggest game of the year.

You're right. The damage was well contained.

For a mere technicality of camera placement, we were fortunate to have our coach fined half a million dollars, our owner fined a quarter of a million dollars, lose a first round pick and still have to hear about it eight years later with no end in sight.

Could you please tell us how it could have had a worse outcome?

I disagree. I don't think there's another owner with more influence with the league. He's entitled to a timely disposition of this matter and he should ask for that.

You want it to stop? Then what you really want is a losing team, in obscurity, that no one gives two craps about. Like the Buccaneers.

He has influence absolutely. There's also nothing to say he hasn't pressed this. He has no obligation to do this publicly.

I don't see what speaking out really does to help the situation. Players have laughed it off and we have to do the same.

I don't see why this has ruined it? To be honest, and I have some irritating friends, I haven't had this rubbed in my face at all. It seems far fetched to a lot of people.

Reread the OP. You completely missed what was written there.

Not to make some public speech, but he has huge influence in the league (he is the most powerful owner in a group of 32 that employs Roger Goodell) and he while he can't (and shouldn't) be able to influence an investigation, he has every right to demand and get an immediate and timely investigation.

Let me ask YOU. Why should this investigation take 4+ weeks and findings not be publicly announced until well after the Super Bowl? Do you think this subject is complex enough to warrant more than a 48 hour investigation by a team of experts?

BB will play the us against the world card. The players will be told they are disrespected and enraged by the time they take the field in Phoenix. The Hawks will suffer the consequences.

BB is probably thrilled by this as a tool to prepare the team.

That said the OP is correct, Kraft should call out the drug addict owner of the Dolts for leaking this to his fluffer beat reporter Kravitz.

But the post is slagging Mr Kraft off royally...and that isn't fair. He can influence the league in certain areas absolutely...and I would like to think he has tried to push this...but if the OP isn't asking for a public announcement over the matter then why is it slagging him off for not doing it when he doesn't know that for fact?

You may ask ME anything. I certainly don't think it should take this long and no I don't think it is cmplex enough at all. I expect an answer within a day of the game to be honest.

But what can we do? Sit here slagging off the owner for 'ruining' our fan experience of going to the Super Bowl?

Hardly helps...other than a little venting.

Innocent until proven guilty beyond any reasonable doubt is just a memory.

Sad, isn't it.

Only in a court of law...and "beyond a reasonable doubt" is only in murder trials.

True, but could it have been worse?

Ask the Ravens or Roger Goodell about how coming forward and heading the Ray Rice thing off in advance worked out for them. What they said back then came back to blow up on them. I know that is the extreme, but giving this overblown story more press only keeps it overblown even longer.

Besides, even if he comes forward and denies this, what does it accomplish? It will satisfy the Pats fans that he spoke while the conspiracy theorists and Patriots haters will just say he is lying and the fact he came forward he has something to hide.

If people here need Kraft to come forward satisfy their own personal doubts or needs, then fine. But don't think it is going to do anything to change anyone's minds who think the Pats are guilty or change the press from vigorously pursuing this story. It will be just another excuse for Florio to have another Deflate-Gate post and hundreds of responses of people calling the Pats "The Cheatriots" and Belichick "BeliCHEAT".

Bob Kraft is allowing the Jim Romes, the Tomases, the Easterbrookes and Patriotsevens of this world to paint the picture and create the reality.

Mr. Kraft: WE shouldn't have to be dealing with this, YOU come out of the cave and deal with it. Stop worrying about being a "traitor to your class" and fight for your fans for once."

Well said Shmessy. Look, its Bill Belichick's job to ignore the noise. It's Kraft's job to protect the brand. The Patriots brand, not the NFL brand. He can't let Goodell use this to change the conversation. The NFL should be taking a beating right now for the terrible year they've had. Instead, we're talking about PSI and barometric pressure.

Or the Rats, the poor man's Buccaneers.
