For the truly beautiful people

fnord?

I will be gazing down onto this abomination from my mezzanine seats. An unmitigated disaster and utter load of crap. I can't say enough bad things about this ill-conceived boondoggle. They might as well turn the whole damn stadium into a passive viewing experience. Say goodbye to any home field advantage in the south end zone.

ya, i don't like it either. The only way they will create a home field advantage to to create a 4th level...trapping the crowd noise inside...charge $50 a seat...only for fans 21 yrs old and over...free beer. That 4th level seating would be wild.

they are turning this stadium into the Jerry Jones Dome

As stated in that earlier thread on this subject: one more reason to watch from home. I look forward to hearing from those people who earlier insisted that this was all about the fans:

Access to the lounge is limited to existing season ticket holders in good standing. A one-year membership costs $1,500 — on top of the price of season tickets — and you must buy at least two memberships. A three-year membership will set you back $1,250 per year, per membership, also with a minimum of two memberships, or $7,500 altogether.

It's a naked money grab.

The only person I remember spouting "It's about the fans" drivel was Bobby Kraft. Maybe it was during the same drinking binge where he opined that Roger Goodell was "doing a great job as commissioner".

Completely agree that it is a money grab. Those seats probably had some of the louder fans in the stadium and now it will be even more quiet with everyone in there probably not even paying attention to the game.

Signbabybrady comes to mind, for starters.

Called out. We will likely check this out but only using it pregame. My comments in the past were about the growing number of corporate fans that will love this. Like it or not the corporates spend more money than the average fan so of course owners will put things in for them.

I am not a huge fan of pushing Joe out for the corporates but I get it.

And let's be honest it's the average fan that talks about the HDTV being better than stadium so they have to build for those coming.

No, they don't. They could improve parking and make it cheaper. They could put in better seating. They could lower prices across the board. Those are all perfectly valid avenues to be explored, and there are plenty of others.

The problem is that none of them would make the team more money, and Kraft is about the money as much as any owner in the NFL.

I'm one of those "average fans" and have been a season ticket holder for 21 years. The corporate crowd already has ample amenities at Gillette. This lounge nonsense will only detract from the stadium environment.

They're not even good seats for watching the game

Wait! You think they're there to WATCH the game?
Not the corporate pukes where I sit.
Arrive late, leave early
Parade back & forth along the row to buy beers & crappy food
Miss most of the game
NEVER make noise when enemy has the ball

Tell me again why the tax system allows people to write this off?

OK, I'm a hypocrite 'cause I'm always running up the entire flight of stairs to take a whiz

New idea for Gillette:

Luxury urine funnels at each seat. For STH only. $150 additional, per year

Will they be serving whine and cheese down there? Wouldn't mind being a visiting offense backed up in that endzone.
