Agreed. If the Pats decide that it's worth trading some draft capital to get a player that they need, I think/hope that they'd target MLB rather than RB. LB is just a much greater need at this point - last night was kind of a perfect storm that made the run defense look worse than it is, but it did expose that we're vulnerable to interior runs. Getting Siliga back (hopefully) in a few weeks will help there, and I wouldn't mind seeing Beauharnais brought back once the Pats are able to re-sign him off of Washington's PS, but maybe a trade is in the cards as well.
Did anyone catch how many snaps (if any) Gray was in on passing downs last night? I think that's going to be a strong indicator of how he can be used in this offense. If the Pats don't trust him in pass protection--and it's common not to trust rookies there--then they may not be willing to have him in on passing downs. That would limit his utility quite a bit, since his presence on the field would basically be declaring that they're running. If they get comfortable with him on passing downs, though, then I'm intrigued. Granted he only carried the ball a couple of times last night, but he looked strong and decisive when he did. He's probably no world-beater, and he will be a significant step down from Ridley, but he runs the way we need.
