The guy was not even practicing until two weeks before the season started and hadn't been running up until a month or two before that. Most players need time under those circumstances take time to get back up to game speed. And watching him in the one preseason game he played, he rounded his routes which tells me that he might have problems planting his foot.
You act like Dobson had the entire preseason to get up to speed. This is his sixth week back practicing. Gronk has been practicing all preseason and training camp and still isn't close to 100%. The thing is the Pats need him too much to not play him.
