Receivers is tough to spell, tough to draft, and they often don't develop into a starter in their first year. I'm still miffed that Chad Jackson didn't play like he was capable.

I like a couple of players for later in the draft. Robert Herron out of Wyoming, who reminds me of Deion Branch, and was coached by a Chip Kelly guy as his position coach, projected as a 2- or 3-rounder; and Cody Latimer, a bigger kid with soft hands and decent production who is leaving Indiana early and is currently projected as a mid-range prospect.

We need players to catch the ball. These two look as good as what we got last year in Boyce and Dobson, both of whom showed more promise than production.

Who knows about Edelman? Who knows about TJ Moe? Who knows about Amendola's health? And Jimmy Fallon may fail before Gronk makes it back to the field.

I do like Herron but he strikes me as too similar to Josh Boyce to warrant a day two pick. I keep seeing Latimer's name mentioned but have yet to see him. Thank you for reminding me to take a look at him.

I want to see what Boyce and Moe can provide before getting too worked up about adding more rookie receivers. And don't forget Mark Harrison who has lots of upside.

Paul Richardson, Colorado - reminds me of TY Hilton. Catches the ball away from the body, run after the catch, intermediate/deep ball treat.
Brandon Coleman, Rutgers - reminds me of Ashton Jeffery. Red zone threat. Seems to be able use his height/long arms to his advantage.
Odell Beckham, LSU - reminds me of Percy Harvin. Whatever Percy does.

Eric Ward of Tech Tech is a guy flying under the radar that could be a great slot receiver. Great hands, quick and big enough to stand up to some hits.

Matt Hazel of Coastal Carolina? He's the teammate of RB Taliaferro who was a big hit at the senior bowl for me. Hazel's not an athletic specimen but he has good "getting open" athletic traits. Big kid with quick feet and enough speed to get deep. Appears to track the ball well and catch away from his body.

In the 2nd/3rd round I like Devante Adams from Fresno State, but the guy I really like is Devin Street from Pitt in the 4th/5th. He's a tall, smooth WR with a good catch radius and soft hands. He uses his length to work vertically but also works the middle of the field well. He won't be a high pick because he won't run a great 40 time, but I think he is a very talented WR and a good fit.

I like Odell Beckham and Brandin Cooks. Both may last until the 2nd round. Would love to see either in a Pats uni. Cooks is especially a binky.

I know it's not exactly what we need but adding playmakers can never be bad.

street is the one late rounder that interests me. BB quite often double dips at a school. Pittsburgh this year with Street and Donald?

Street is interesting. I'm also intrigued by Jeff Janis, and want to see how he runs at the Combine.

I really don't want to spend a day 2 pick on a WR. Day 3 is fine, though I personally prefer that we wait until UDFA. Any day 3 pick will have to compete with Harrison and Moe for a roster spot anyway, and in a deep draft there will be talented receivers who slip through the cracks, like Thompkins and Da'Rick Rogers last year.

I'm tired as anything right now so I'll just list a few, feel free to ask for comparison or why I like them or anything like that:
Allen Robinson, Martavis Bryant, Jared Abberderis, Dri Archer, Jeremy Gallon

I'd have to go with Allen Robinson, he played in a offense similar to NE, coached by O'Brien, he is a great route runner and he is 6-3

I'm with you. There are some round one two guys I could live with:

Landry - Arguably the best pure receiving skills in class. Straight replacement for Thompkins.

Beckham Jnr & Cooks - Explosion

Robinson - Scheme compatibility.

I'm not saying I would draft them but I would be perfectly fine if BB did because I like all four. Beyond that Street on day three but then beyond that, only add a UDFA or two to come into camp and compete with Moe and Harrison.

I would be very happy with that. I think Street will fall for a lot of the same reasons Alshon Jeffery did, "he's too slow, he can't get separation again NFL CB's, he needs to be more physical getting off the line, blah, blah, blah". I'm more concerned with what guys can do and like Alshon Jeffery, Street possesses 3 things I value greatly in a WR; length, body control and good hands. Now he certainly isn't Alshon Jeffery calibre, because Jeffery has insane body control and the best hands I've ever seen in college football, but I think Street has the potential to be a legitimate starting WR in the NFL, particularly in New England's system.

Give me Donald early and Street mid/late and I will be very happy.

All of that plus he has underrated explosiveness

I think Dri Archer, although not a favourite of mine, could be the type of player we draft in the 3rd round

I like Alex Neutz and Allen Robinson, very low risk picks. I wouldn't mind drafting Jeff Janis though, the kid intrigues me, although the level of competition is an obvious red flag.

I hope Pats do not draft another WR. They need at least one TE each in Day 2 and 3.

Troy Niklas, Notre Dame
C. J. Fiedorowisz, Iowa
Richard Rodgers, California
Xavier Grimble, USC
Crockett Gillmore, Colorado State
Jordan Najvar, Baylor

Mate, you know what you're talking about. This credible mock has us taking Devante Adams in the second (and Louis Nix in the first). We need some explosiveness in our passing game pronto. 2014 NFL Mock Draft

Hazel is a solid WR and the few game i saw he really stood out. Would be a great addition on day two

I think if Moncreif of Miss. is available at the end of the fourth round, then we need to look at this guy.

Not the fastest, but decent hands, decent route running, and has had success in the SEC with a mediocre at best QB throwing him the ball.

Mike davis of Texas would be good.
