National Media was right

Dan Marino 2.0.

Luckily for him he had a game against Rex Grossman to win 1 SB.

The mediots are and will be in full spin control this week. Peyton was probably suffering some major illness and injury that affected his thought process

The o-line suck, receivers dropped balls, moreno could't run, he ran out of gas. he,he...had a flat tire. He didn't have enough money for cab fare. His tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole his car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T PEYTON'S FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!

The thing about his game is this:

As bad as he was, he had two other throws that could easily have been picks.

Haven't won anything since cap-gate :D

We were talking about whether this could be the worst blowout in suberbowl history and lo and behold they showed a segment on the blowout record - also the Broncos. Glorious!

On another note, I was actually kind of glad that the Pats didn't make the superbowl. We would have gotten smoked by the hawks. Wouldn't have been this much of the blowout but another SB loss would be a tough pill to swallow.

So thrilled by this outcome.

Football is a T-E-A-M game. Always has been always will be. No matter how much the National media wants every yard the Broncos gain to be the product of Manning's brilliance, and every yard they don't concede on defense to be a byproduct.

If they won we'd have heard a straight chorus of "Peyton da GOAT". They lost, so we hear its a team game?

Face it. Football is ALWAYS a team game. When you win and when you lose. And a real team just illustrated that with an exclamation point.

Bwahaaaaa you guys are so right!!!

I tuned in to this game expecting a Manning choke and was not disappointed!!!

The Pats have to forget the Broncos and build a team to beat the Seahawks!!

DEFENSE BABY!!!!

Once SEA scored the KR TD to start the 3rd Q to go up 4 (5?) scores, I was like, uh-oh here comes SEA's prevent D (which did manifest to a degree), and allow the ever excuse-at-the-ready Peyton to perfume his up-to-that-point terrible stats enough to fool a few people into believing he had a decent game. Luckily, in the end, this game was such a spectacular pile, even these meaningless deodorizers couldn't mask the stench of this monsterous crap fest! Loved it! :rocker:

And there it is. The San Diego local sports news starts with "Peyton Manning throws for a Superbowl record 34 receptions, but the NFL's best Offence is no match for the NFL's best Defense." Puhh-leaze.

This has been the toughest 2 weeks of my life as a football fan.

The daily effluvium emanating from the Denver media has been constantly nauseous.

I can't wait to see what these turkeys have to say tomorrow.

As I told my wife earlier, I cannot deny myself - I am extremely happy, and there can be only one reason for that happiness.

We didn't go to any Super Bowl parties (we had the invites), and we both feel it's just as we didn't. Most of our relatives/in-laws/friends are Bronco fans, so we figured discretion, valor, all that...

Unlike '07 and the Patriots (when the Super Bowl loss was an event of catastrophic proportions), the media out here is soft pedaling the loss, with comments about the great season, having a great team that will be back there next year, etc., etc. And although there were no visible tears flowing, these guys were crying in their beer.

I can once again wear my Patriot attire with total impunity.

Once more - you cannot lay claim to being the best of all time if you are not even the best of your time!

I felt the same way. Not, the I'm glad we didn't get there part, cuz with our depleted roster I didn't feel overly optimistic running into a SF or SEA buzzsaw either. Yet at the very frickin' least, NE wouldn't get rolled like this! So I guess someday when today's TV viewers look back upon their lives, a spirited matchup with NE would have instead at least made a few hundred million people feel a bit better overall with their decision to spend one precious Sunday watching this entire blowout of a game, AND for only God knows what reason, more than three and a half hours of a torturous pregame show as well... So yeah, NE would have had that going for them to start next season at least. :)

Liked for effluvium.

I love how the (Manning is so smart he is the teams Offensive
Coordinator as well) talk that disappears after a big game.:D

And then all the playcalling gets blamed on the coaches instead.

The SI Sportsman of the Year article also claimed he invented the no-huddle.

But, yeah, when Manning is running it up on some hapless team, he's the play-caller, the OC on the field, he's in charge of the whole show. When the offense fails to show up in a postseason loss, he's just a humble competitor, running the plays that are sent in.

Even Boomer Esiason was throwing the blame around to others. He blamed the tackles as most culpable. Brady was sacked 5 times by the Giants in SB 42 and never threw a pick. His line was a complete busted dam but I don't remember the apologists running amuck after that game. I also don't want to hear Manning was pressured more. No he wasn't he sat back there quite a bit. Everytime he didn't there was a HUGE mistake or almost a huge mistake. Brady got knocked down almost every play in that game.

Also I never want to hear the term dink and dunk in a derogatory manner again. Of Manning's 280 yards how many were after the catch? I looked and couldn't find it in a box score anywhere but how many passes were caught behind the LOS and went for 8-12? I doubt if his yards per attempt minus yards after the catch was more than a yard or two given it was only 5.7 for the game as it was and at least a half dozen were screens behind the LOS for a negative start.

I am very petty and shallow but I feel much better today, much much better. :)

Brady was sacked 5 times in SB 42, but he was pressured so many more times. I can't find the figures on that, but my goodness, it seemed like he was under siege all game long. Took some HUMONGOUS hits in that game.

Yesterday, Manning was sacked once and hit just 4 times. But he had two INTs (including a pick six) and a fumble. Three turnovers, could have been 5, easily.

BTW I'm so glad the weather was near perfect so they couldn't add that to the list of excuses. As if inability to play in the elements should be an excuse in football.

Exactly but the media rhetoric is much different today than it was after that game. The fact that Brady didn't throw a pick in that game was amazing given how badly he was battered.
