Yes, of course you are right in your thought that there is another option, but most of us (correctly or not) are basing this on the #6 seed being too weak this yr, no matter who gets in.

I wouldn't put anything past the Texans defense and running game either, at home for a playoff game. They will come to play for sure, although I doubt they can go too far..I see no reason why we should assume the lowly 6 seed (NYJ, CIN, etc) is going to beat them at home.

You are right though, there certainly are a couple ways to look at it.

Having the 2 seed is my better choice, although you may be right in disagreeing.

he is tough, no doubt about it, but he is like Tebow (Jesus) when it comes to injuries. He wants everyone to know about it, talk about.

Some interesting facts...

The 49ers have yet to allow a rushing touchdown this season and this would be a record that will probably never be broken if they pitch a shutout for the next 3 games in that area,Pittsburgh likes to shove the ball to Mendenhall in the goaline formation,will be interesting to see if he can get in.

The series between the two teams is nearly DEAD even with the 49ers having a slight edge of 10 wins to Pitt's 9 wins and only the 20th meeting in thier history.

The record for SF at home in this series is even at 5-5

There is only ONE time in this series when the winning team did not score over 20 points.

In the 49ers legendary 1984 Season when they destroyed almost every team on route to the SB came ONE loss and that was to the Steelers.

The 49ers are assured of the NFC West title. They're going to the post-season. They won't have a vacation for at least another 3 weeks.
