Orton is a system type guy who doesn't take too many risks,,,,,he will probably thrive under JM. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a better year than Cutler.

There is some difference: dry cold in Denver vs. bone chilling damp cold in Chicago, plus the wind. Cutler is from Santa Claus, Indiana though. Maybe this is a homecoming for him? I think he was just trying to get away from Philip Rivers, who thought Cutler was his beeotch.

Man, Callahan is going to be brutal tomorrow on D&C. He was already getting annoying as it was with the Cassel trade, but I might not be able to listen to it tomorrow.

What makes you think Jay Cutler can do that? And, without that, what makes you think he can ultimately lead a team to the promised land?

It's hard to win on a team that has no defense and no running game. Anyone who's watched Cutler knows he's one of the better young QB's in the game. I'm not saying he's going to win a Super Bowl but what do you want the Bears to do, stick with Orton? Draft someone completely unproven and will probably be getting paid around the same amount as Cutler right now?

n the same day the Chicago Bears added a new quarterback, they got someone to protect him.

The Bears have agreed to terms with Orlando Pace, a source tells ESPN's Michael Smith.

Moments after acquiring quarterback Jay Cutler from the Denver Broncos, the Bears reached an agreement to sign former Rams left tackle Pace.

Terms of the deal weren't immediately available. Pace will reunite with Lovie Smith, who was the defensive coordinator for the Rams when Pace was considered one of the best left tackles in football.

Pace, 33, was released by the Rams after efforts to trade him failed. He was the first pick in the 1997 draft. The seven-time Pro Bowl tackle has been selected to six all NFC teams and was a five-time All-Pro.

Pace had an offer from the Philadelphia Eagles, but he decided to sign with the Bears on the day Cutler was acquired in a trade from the Broncos.

You forgot to mention that Denver is higher in altitude so the ball Cutler's throws wont go as far as it would in denver!!

Wow! Cutler won the early PR battle, but McDaniels, Xander, and Bowlen won the war. No way Cutler is worth what the Broncos got for him. Not only did they get a lot of ammo to rebuild for the next 5-10 years, the front office bought some good will with the fans to make them excited about the future and patent for the present.

I think between either Simms or Orton, McDaniels will have a serviceable QB who might surprise a lot of people. Both are smarter QBs who might thrive in McDaniels' system.

McDaniels will be able to build the defense quickly even if he uses one of his first rounders on another QB. I hate to say it because I hate the Broncos, but they might be legitimate contenders faster now than if they kept Cutler.

I think it's a good deal for the Broncos, personally. Bronco fans on the other hand are going batshit insane over this, they want to kill McDaniels.

The Bears beat out the Redskins, Buccaneers, Lions, Titans and other teams to land the 25-year-old Pro Bowl quarterback.

This is further proof of why we are so blessed to have BB. Each of these teams could have made a play for Cassel (who is better than either Cutler or Orton) but they were too damn stupid to:

1. realize the talent of Cassel.

2. get the ducks in a row and be ready to deal when free agency started.

BB is head and shoulders above these clowns.

McDaniels will more likely be looking for DL and QB in the early rounds of the draft. Having worked with Belichick, he'll know what part of the Denver defense he needs to change first. QB is also important as, while Orton is a serviceable quarterback, he is not the future. If he doesn't go quarterback with the other first round pick he'll either take an ILB or a safety.

This is a great trade for Denver, in my opinion. Cutler is a good QB but he's not better than having two first rounders. I think Josh will find the QB that he likes either through the draft or free agency and I think the Broncos will be in pretty good shape two years from now. He's building this team exactly like a BB assistant should.

Have you seen Orton play? He was great this year until he got hurt, and his WRs suck. They're much worse than the Reche Caldwell, Doug Gabriel, year we had.

Hes got one real issue: his long ball sucks. That won't matter in McDaniels;' offense though.

Seriously, he got his first real chance to play this year, and was GOOD.
