Ty Law claims Patriots offered him "a good deal more" than Jets?

so he's taking LESS money??? Law?? What a joke he is...I hope he gets burned bad...he's so full of manure...Take a look at the Hall here Ty..you will NEVER make it in...go retire in Green...with the other losers..

Ty Law and Manjudas are like 2 peas in a pod:steamed: Ty's perfect for them,I hope he stays there.

Wow, now if there's one team I really want to see fail, it's the Jets. They have overtaken the Colts and Steelers. Ty should know better, he has 3 rings with this team and this coach. One of them which he watched us win in a wheelchair. And who plays the respect card better than the Pats?

Man, as much as I hate Gomer and the Colts, I have always hated everything about the Jests. They really have no equal in my book of teams which need to be beaten. :)

I don't give two sh!ts about what old man Law has to say about anything

schefter reported we paid him vets minimum at 1 yr, which actually saved the Jets money after cutting Miller.

I find that pretty interesting.

Either Law is flat out lying, which raises the question of why?
To ingratiate him with new teammates?
Because he was embarrassed to accept the one-year pro-rated veteran minimum?
He said "I will always love the Patriots" so it doesn't seem like it's about sticking it to the man.

Or he is telling the truth, which raises the question of why he would choose the Jets.
He said he was theeeeese close to signing with the Pats.
Then he said he was offered more by the Pats.
He's one INT away from setting the New England record for INT's, and the Jets and Pats are tied in the division.

Recognize that Law is normally, and blatantly, all about the money.
And he will tell you that.
"I am the CEO of Ty Law Inc."
He sees the NFL as a business, and he is a businessman.
If he has two customers offering different amounts of money for his services, he chooses the one offering more.

So, if he didn't in this case, then why?
People raise the issue of usage. But the Patriots are all about being creative in how they use defenders. Recall that Law and Harrison used to switch off positions, almost just for fun. Then one would drop and one would cover the flat. DB's blitz. DB's drop into the LB role. With Harrison and Wheatley out, Wilhite demoted, and O'Neal starting at corner, there is all sorts of opportunity.

Very interesting.

Oh. So maybe the Pats offered the minimum...and a bag of doughnuts.

No way Ty Law plays for vet minimum if he could have made more. Besides his thirst for money, Ty Law has pride. I call total BS on his claiming the Pats were going to give him more dinero and he turned it down.

everyone is lying once again in their grand master plan to take down the pats

I am certain Ty is not lying - I bet the Patriots DID offer him more, before the season started!! But not now........

Ty is absolutely full of crap! If the Pats offered him more money, he would be here in a Pats uniform. End of story! Saying he left money on the table to instead play for the Jets is like a fat kid picking the smaller of two pieces of pie. Its just not going to happen!!

This could be a true report. Law's at least smart enough when it comes to money that getting paid more to sit on the bench in New England isn't as good a deal as getting paid less to actually play for NY.

MangIdiot may have promised him playing time. Belichick would never do that - you have to earn your playing time around here.

ty law is one of those guys with a big mouth. i believe maybe 5-10% of the things he says.

Sorry if it's already been brought up...I haven't been by in a while. Anyway, this is from today's Post:

TY LAW WANTS TO PLAY FOR NEW YORK JETS THURSDAY AGAINST NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS - New York Post

Here's the relevant passage:

Everybody thinks it's money, money, money," he said. "New England offered me more money than I'm getting paid here. New England offered me a good bit more, but I felt like this was the right situation and Eric was always forthright with me about how he was going to utilize me and let me come in and play. If I want to play beyond this season, I think this is the best chance to do so and the best chance to win, in my opinion.

Wow. On many levels.

If this is true....he should NEVER be allowed to retire a NE Patriot....and he is DEAD TO ME.....this is a guy like Vinatraitor that I thought....hey, thanks for everything you did to help us win so many championships.....and when it is all over, and you are going to ride off into the sunset.....hope you finish off your career in NE.......Now, if this is true about Law.....that offer and loyalty......and feeling....to him......IS GONE........I can not believe that Law would be this bad in character......

If nothing else this should be VERY GOOD locker room material.....I hope someone takes his head off.........

I find it hard to believe that the Pats would pony up more money for him now, when he's one wrong foot plant away from being washed up, when they wouldn't give him more money to stay when he was still in his prime. (Or at least a lot closer than he is now.)

The only way I believe this is if the Jesters offered him league minimum, which is doubtful considering the way they throw money around.

There's a thread on Jets Insider saying he signed for the minimum

I don't think he is much of a difference maker anymore anyway.

Thats a weird thing to say. I think ty is trying to knock off his bad rep for being a selfish and greedy player
