I agree. When you've got a great coaching staff, Tom Brady, and several terrific wide receivers to learn from, you really have to look inside for the problem.

He is a bust plain and simple. he had more than one opportunity to show his potential and repeatedly did not. I am not surprised at all. Too bad Cassell didnt preceed him.

i would not mind getting Anderson, the OL from Cincinatti

or maybe a very good CB....

but other than that, i still thought we needed one more season without chad jack getting hurt in order to be assured of his position

Chad was too concerned about the lifestyle of a NFL player rather than working to make himself the reciever the pats thought they were getting when they drafted him. His rookie year was a flop. He blew up his knee in the playoffs and missed most of last season....we can say the same for Neal yet he is due back in a few weeks. That tells me getting back on the field might not have been a priority. I agree he was going to be trade bait this preseason but he sucked....and now we have to cut him. One shot at the myth of BB/SP being infalible drafting and another at thinking he was worth anything as trade bait.

You are correct.

Washington is this team's #4 receiver, finally. It only took him a year and half. He signed last offseason expecting to be about the #4 receiver (he was an offensely-minded player in Cincy), but the Moss trade threw a wrench into those plans.

Of course, I got blasted recently for suggesting that Washington would be the #4 receiver and Jackson would be cut.

Is this really a loss? What was he going to contribute? He always looked good on an end-around, but that's it.

Yeah, I'm just as surprised as everyone else, but he never got on the same wavelength as Brady, so he wasn't going to contribute at WR. BB must have felt that CJ and Ventrone offered more at ST, especially with both Slater and CJ handling returns.

I look for a pickup at OL. Also, Dallas has only 2 healthy WRs. Chad would look good catching "go" routes from Romo. I think it's the only route he runs well.

Exactly, we kept CJ Jones over Chad Jackson. Unbelievable !!

He's finally healthy and he never had a healthy chance to play with TB, this was going to his chance and they cut him and all of his upside loose ? Unreal.

Poor Chad had to play with these stiff QBs all preseason and he still managed two really nice TD catches. Brady would have really made him. This bites.............

I am willing to bet Chad is on the phone with Eric Mangini as we speak. If he goes to the Jets and makes our lives miserable twice a year for the next 5 years, I'm going lose it...............

You must have watched a different set of games because CJ Jones didn't look good at all.. Fumbled punts. Fumbled kicks.

Uh uh. It's okay not to like him, but no lying to try to make your point. Let's keep to facts here.

"CJ didn't look good at all" is your opinion and that's cool.

My opinon is that Jones looked damn good catching the ball. Went up and made a couple terrific grabs. I think he outplayed Jackson.

I'm surprised Jackson got cut, especially today (why not yesterday? why not trade him out of division for a 7th?) but he wasn't better than CJ Jones, or even Ventrone, sad as that is to say for me, because I was onboard with Jackson at the beginning.

Dang. I WANTED him to work out, but when you don't produce this is what happens.

Yeah, I wanted him to work out, too. I had doubts when Felger said he had Jackson on WEEI after the foukrth preseason game and Jackson was saying how great he was a what a playmaker, etc etc. Even Felger thought it was un-Patriot like.
