Brett's real legacy is proving that a self absorbed gunslinger who threw for lots of empty yardage and lucked into a ring early in his career can bamboozle an entire industry for a decade by simply playing the good old boy card ad nauseum.
I think Favre's real legacy is the fact that he was one of the greatest QB ever to play the game.
- #1 all-time in completions (and attempts)
- #1 all-time in passing yards
- #1 all-time in TD passes (and interceptions)
- #19 all-time in passer rating
- #7 all-time in passing yards per game
- #15 all-time in completion percentage
- one Super Bowl title (other great QB haven't won them...ask Dan Marino)
- 3 MVP awards
- 9 time pro bowler
- 3 time all-pro
His 4 peak seasons were utterly dominant:
1994 - 62.4%, 3882 yds, 33 td, 14 int
1995 - 63.0%, 4413 yds, 38 td, 13 int
1996 - 59.9%, 3899 yds, 39 td, 13 int
1997 - 59.3%, 3867 yds, 35 td, 16 int
Then throw in these years:
2001 - 61.6%, 3921 yds, 32 td, 15 int
2004 - 64.1%, 4088 yds, 30 td, 17 int
2007 - 66.5%, 4155 yds, 28 td, 15 int
We can call him an egomaniac all we want, but the guy is one of the absolute greatest that's ever played.
