We were using smoke signals just a month ago. Do you guys know how we can make fire?

LOL. The next lighning strike I get, I'll mail ya some. Works like a charm.:D I usually keep extra in an old box in the yard, but the squirels keep stealing it.

Are you a transplant, or have you always been a pats fan?

Not mean to hi-jack this thread, but this is our analysis FWIW.
Chance of NE winning 20 or more is from 15% to 30%.
Note: Accuscore prediction is something like NE 30-18 and NE win prob is ~81-82% vs 18% for JAX.

Other note: If using only last 8 games for NE and 7 for JAX, it will be a tight game.

Is this homer prediction or are you serius?
Question, something about 1st 8 games and last 8 games %, is that the weight you give? do you know that people handicapping games usually look at only the last few games like 5 or so? at least it seems to me that you realize that the Jags look better if you compare the Pats and Jags for recent games only. I am sure you know our victory is 35.2-16.2 for 5 games (drop the Houston throw away game). You know what for the Pats too right?

you said if it would be tight game is you put more weight on the last 8 games only, how tight is it?

Nope. Born and raised here. been a Pat fan since day one since I was a kid when they where the Boston Patriots. ( and we suked muchco). How about yourself? How do you guys cope with three Florida teams anyway? Must be nuts with different fans down there and then to contend with the transplants from every city in the country.

your LB corps are 1 year older. Colvin is gone and only A Thomas is new. But Tom Brady has these new phenom weapons. I just hope that we keep the balls away from him and trust me we will be aggressive and take shot down fields...

A Thomas is new? You're aware that he's played for the Pats since the start of the year right? I think he's figured things out pretty well.

I meant that he is a new addition this year... I know his role may be different, and I didn't watch him much... but I don't recall him as dominant as when he was with the Ravens.

also, this article says a lot of things we Jags fans think

I am assuming Jaxpatriots means you're from Jacksonville, if not, nevermind. The other Florida teams steal some thinder, but it's really the Gators that are the biggest competition. Some people will drive across the country to see UF play Montana state, but won't pony up for season tickets. That being said, the fan base is growing, and we already have about 60,000 season ticket holders, which would fill up many NFL stadiums. The only reason why I responded to the lame city smack is that everyone seems to have a preconceived notion of Jacksonville, which is mostly wrong. No doubt we are a one horse town, but this city is great if you love good food, good people, golfing, fishing, the beach, etc. It just gets a little annoying when people who haven't even visited Jacksonville trash it (AKA give it the Kornheiser treatment). Good luck this weekend, and hopefully there won't be any injuries to either team.

Well, Jax is my nickname. I still live in Mass. about 10 miles from the stadium. I have no doubt that Jax is a kool city. The smack talk is just part of the fun, so don;t take it seriously. I also know the jags are a good team and you deserve to be in the playoffs. You guys earned it like everyone else did. Good luck to you also. It will be a good game nonetheless.

when is it fluky and when is it talents? does Moss have fluke catches or was that his talents? watching Maurice and Fred for years, I know what I see. You'll see more fluky runs... do you remembered his last year run against the Pats? Was Marion Barber's run escaping your gang tackling in the EZ his talent or fluky? that's about objectivity

Um, he fell on the ground. The Patriots defenders (most notably Banta-Cain) gave up on the play because they thought the play was over. It was a heads-up play by Jones-Drew and a bonehead one by NE, but you deny it was flukey? That play (and the one last year where a Jets receiver was tackled onto a NE DB, laying on him but never touching the ground, got up and ran for a touchdown) pretty much defines flukey. Have you seen that happen since then?

You're presenting us with Hat Guy, the worst sportswriter in the country? The guy who thinks that everything will be alright as long as Derek Jeter flashes his steady, confident eyes (I wouldn't be surprised if he said the same crap about Brady)? The guy who finds a way to work a food metaphor into almost every article? Go read some Fire Joe Morgan if you're unfamiliar with him.

Jones-Drew had impressive numbers, but they were aided remarkably by the flukiest run you will ever see.

19 carries 131 yards 2 TDs.

Minus the 74 yard run where TBC thought he had already been tackled that is really:

18 carries
54 yards
3 ypc

He can average 3 ypc all day for all I care.

Why do fans insist on doing this? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a running back trying to go the distance everytime they get the ball? Fans act like they are trying to eek out 4 yards a carry and get lucky on every long run. Long runs happen you cannot discount them.

For the record I think the Pats will win this one big as well. The Jags couldn't stop the Steelers in the spread and they only did it for one quarter. The Pats will do it for the entire game and have much better personnel than Pittsburgh does. It wouldn't surprise me if Jacksonville has more success running the ball vs New England than they did against Pittsburgh though but either way it won't matter much. You guys will be seeing Indy next week, should be a great game (the best of the playoffs Super Bowl included).

I like Brady. But honestly I 'd rather have Garrard (Ga-rard like you sayin Go)

The reason why is obvious. Mobility. What I wish we had, is your O-line and Recieving core. However establishing ourselves as the 2nd best two back team in the League has made for an exciting year for us fans. Imagine how many rushing yards we would've racked up if our passing game sucked!

You PATS fans are some of the greatest, and everyone envies your Dynasty's success. But as with everything great, theres a signifigant peak and drop. Your drop may have arrived. If the Jags beat the Pats Sat., it will never be remembered as the perfect season for the PATS, but rather the Perfect win for the Jags. Of course we will then advance only to lose the AFC championship game. But how sweet it will be....Remember, theres a lot of guys on this team that remember loss to you guys that kept us out of the playoffs. There are also a lot of guys here in this small-market wanting to make a name for themselves. Justin Durant is a name you may remember after Saturday.

But win or lose, there will be no blowout!

Let me get this straight, you would rather have David Garrard at QB over Tom Brady? Man, the hippie lettuce must be really good in Jacksonville. How many Pats games have you watched? Tom Brady is very mobile in the pocket and has much better pocket presence than David Garrard.

Tom Brady is the best QB ever when it comes to staying cool in the pocket, finding the open WR and delivering a strike. Heck he's the best ever period (ouch that hurts) and I'm a Dolphins fan so I'm very bias. In today's NFL there is Brady and Manning, then everybody else. The lack of good QB's is the leagues biggest downfall.

To the stat and standings watcher this was Brady's greatest season. The true football guy realizes that even Daunte Culpepper put up great stats with a gimpy Moss and an aging Randell Cunningham led a Minnesota team with Moss to a 15 win season. I still say Brady's most impressive stuff was winning the Super Bowl in 2001 and even keeping his team competitive in 2002 and 2006 where their offensive talent was much worse.

Hahahaha!

Garrard over Brady... sorry, but you're insane. Good luck finding any other Jaguars fans who agree with you on that.

Yeah, and one or two people thought Bobby Douglas was a better guy to have than Johnny Unitas.

You missed the later posts.

When a guy is lying on the ground and a LB is standing a few feet away but chooses to not touch him because he thought he was already tackled....

Let's just say that this play is not terribly predictive of what will happen in the future. This wasn't a case of poor tackling or "run until we finally break the big one" where it is unfair to exclude one play because that is goal. This was a play that will likely never be recreated between these two teams ever again.

Thanks for kind words. Class. The Fins happen to be my 2nd team. I've always enjoyed watching them over the years, well except the last couple. You guys seem to be turning it around some and I wish you good luck. I loved the battles we had and miss them. I also have a feeling JT will be in a Pats uni next year. You?

BTW. Check out miamidolphinsinsider.com Its a new message board thats pretty kool.

Bingo! We have the winner for the dumbest post of the year! This cannot be topped.

Garrard over Brady... I am reading this correctly right?

1:37PM (time of your post) is a little early to start drinking isn't it? I mean even in the Jacksonville trailer parks they wait until 2, right?

No but seriously, you make a very good point. Mobility is the key!! That's why I always thought Ray Lucas was a better QB than Elway...
