I think the announcement was to settle down the fans.could help explain the puzzling 'extension" announced a short while back.
Pats sending a message, that if teams want to talk to BB, he is under contract, and would require compensation.
protection on losing an asset for nothing
something the team failed to address at the trade deadline
This got me to thinking (always a dangerous thing) and the possibility of that group all ending up together again is fascinating. The odds could actually be better than the Pats making the playoffs.BB, McDaniels, Patricia and Jimmy G could be a package going ... somewhere.
What's real garbage is filling this site up with nonsense from folks most of us don't want to hear. You need to stop listening to Jones and Felger. All this talk of trading BB or firing him is total garbage. It is the the kind of spew you would expect from the afternoon radio idiots like Adam Jones (who is even worse than Felger). The problem is that Jones and Felger repeat this baloney so often the some of the listening public actually believes it.
Please tell me this "listening public" doesn't vote or serve on civic boards. All this talk of trading BB or firing him is total garbage. Gotta hand it to Florio this dude is persistent. Once he gets an idea about something he doubles and triples down on it and won’t let go. He’s been talking about BB being traded for over a year now.
Did the same thing for Brady unretiring again.
Rivera is probably on his way out there. So why would they want BB?
No ONE is untouchable in this league. Coaches ,players, executives. I'm not suprised by anything these days in the NFL. I think the consensus would say there projects to be some changes this off season. Be it with or without BB this franchise will look to get back into becoming a contender.. one way or anotherWhat's real garbage is filling this site up with nonsense from folks most of us don't want to hear. What do you think? Do you really think that Bill is untouchable or should be? If so, why? Using his own standard with players tells me that he's fair game.
Not aware of any rule that would prevent an in season coach trade. Don't think it's been done though.Florio is a pretty infor person.. he definitely knows how to handle information.. I think there could be something to this. Question though can coaches be traded at any time during the season?
Ok.. I know it's very rare. But I'd believe if it did happen it would be in the offseason. Everything we need to do going forward is tied to having the right QB.Not aware of any rule that would prevent an in season coach trade. Don't think it's been done though.
Looked it up. There have been 7 coach trades and the Pats were involved with 2 of them. All were done during their team's offseason and at least some of them right after their team's season ended.Ok.. I know it's very rare. But I'd believe if it did happen it would be in the offseason. You feel validated by... Florio? There’s a whole bunch of people who said my Belichick Trade Value thread was the dumbest topic they’d ever seen on this forum and I don’t want to see them here talking about this at all lol.
Great stuff! Very interesting information. So what you guess BB would fo for?Looked it up. There have been 7 coach trades and the Pats were involved with 2 of them. All were done during their team's offseason and at least some of them right after their team's season ended.

Arians who won a COTY with the Cardinals only got them a 6th round pick and they also had to cough up a 7th? Woof.
LOL. Any port in a storm. Sort of like setting your points with a matchbook cover back in the day. Those covers were reputed to be exactly 0.015", the perfect generic points gap.You feel validated by... Florio?

More than anything.. the season spiraled out of control early. The injuries made it worse. We were already a roster that had literally no margin for errors. The injuries happened to be to the best players. That is tough for any team to overcome let alone us. We all can whole heartily agree BB as a coach 1st ballot undeniable HOF. He's dedicated he life to this sport. I believe the roster decisions and indecision have been so egregious that it's hard for some to look past. Me personally I didn't think we'd be in this position at all. I thought we'd be at the 2021 level or something comparable. We are in NFL mediocrity. In my book, BB is untouchable. Patriots fans are spoiled by 2 decades of excellent teams and now that the Patriots are halfway through a down year, everyone wants to throw out the baby with the bathwater. Trading or firing BB is crazy talk. Another Hall of Fame coach is not walking through that door.
That being said, I don't have an easy answer for BB's atrocious GM moves the last few years. I doubt that Bill would continue to coach here if you took away his GM duties. This year's draft was excellent, but the team got cheap and whiffed on DHop.
