When Patriots right guard Russ Hochstein abrubtly hooks left, well before the Brady 4th & 1 snap in the final minutes of Monday's game, he leaves an open highway for the Ravens defensive left tackle to throttle Pats fullback Heath Evans almost as he receives the handoff from Tom Brady. Had Hochstein held his position and not false-started, the Pats would have easily gained a first down as tight end Kyle Brady (on the left flank) and LT Matt Light have already done their job in front of Evans, by opening a gap for Evans, off left tackle, to enable Evans to lunge forward for 3 + yards.
Don't buy into the notion that the Pats were dead in the water had the Hochstein false start not occured. It would have been Patriots 1st and 10 on the next play.
