You know there is a statement, you can fool some of the people some of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can never fool all of the people all of the time.

I know exactly what went on at indystar. I used to read it every day because I watch the stocks everyday and used to go read and post on occassion. You are not fooling me. You folks are flat out nasty.

I have not been on that site for months until this post came out. So I went and looked. Now you seem very docile. You know why??? Every smart Pat fan left. Tell me where are the Brady is gay posts??? There used to be at least 5 a day. Where are they???

Guess when you only have yourselves to talk to it gets boring. It is what it is.

You have no idea what your talking about, I can tell you right now that nobody on the star gets nasty unless provoked, and I can tell you that there are at least 75 Pats fans on the board that do the provoking...

Your board is indystar.com. Now go.

I don't troll here, I talk football, if you don't like me here then too bad, put me on ignore and don't read my posts, it simple even for you to figure out..

That's the biggest load of crap I've heard in a long time. Here's a thread from Indystar called "Welcome Patriots fans!" STARTED BY A MODERATOR:

http://www2.indystar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=212210&highlight=patriots

And here is his very first post in the thread:

You bunch a cheatin', hoodie wearin' bastages!

Now, feel free to sit down to a big bowl of shut the hell up.

So, I went and looked at your posts. You talk football???

I'm sure it was great fun to insult our team. Now you only have yourselves to talk to because it was so over the top.

Now, your insults are to move here???

Last post to you. Last post on this subject. Such a waste of time.

don't feed me that crap unless you plan to show some proof or a link, until you do that then your full of crap and you know it..all your doing is proving the poster right on instar how Pats fans act, and remember if you go back in this thread all I was doing is praising another Pats fan for being a good poster on the Indystar board and I get attacked. That shows alot of class and only makes the poster on indystar right

It was a joke, and if your not on that board everyday then your obviously not going to get it, and take it the wrong way..

Yes, that's why his/her follow up post was "Bite me" and later in the thread it was "If I had known I was going to upset so many delicate flowers I'd have posted it sooner."

Nothing but humor there, and this was so clearly the only thread I could pull for an example.

well you know it wasn't like she posted here or anything, she and all Colts fans have put up with so much crap from Pats fans on that board she wasn't in any mood to be nice to any of them, now in all fairness it sounds like its not coming from the people on this board, I have had many good conversations on this board with some very fine posters and would like to continue to do so, I still don't understand what that other guy attacked me for simply praising another Pats fan, but thats the same kind of stuff we put up with on Indystar..I mean if a person can't praise somebody on here and not get attacked then what are we supposed to do? bow down and kiss Brady's butt?

Here is what it would be like on here with no other teams fans on this board

post number 1, Brady is better then Manning
Post number 2, Yep your right

next thread
post number 1 Man the Pats are awesome this year
post number 2, yep your sure right

I could go on but I think you get the idea, I think it would be boring if we didn't have the Pats fans on Indystar and equally boring here if it wasn't mixed views here also..

That's fine, but don't cry about it when it happens on other boards as well, even your beloved Indystar. As I was pointing out earlier, one of the downsides of dealing with easy registration and allowing fans from other teams to post is that you have to deal with trolls.

As for being attacked for agreeing with another Patriots fan, I can tell you that a lot of people here seem to have short fuses right now because of the combination of months of "Spygate" nonsense along with the normal trolling.

I stayed away from here when that was going on, way too much was made out of that spygate crap..I mean they got caught in the first half of game one of the season, and as somebody else pointed out it wasn't illegal to do this until 2006, so all the superbowls that the Pats won are not tainted as some people tried to say. You will never hear me bad mouth the Pats over that crap ever..

This in an interesting thread -- for me at least, at this time. I run a private BB. It's private to avoid this kind of crap -- worse crap, actually. I'm planning to open it to others and here is how I intend to manage participants...

1) New users will only be allowed to post to existing threads in certain forums
2) Once they achieve x posts, they will be allowed to create threads in same
3) At the next threshold, they will be allowed to post to threads in all forums
4) At the highest level, they will be able to start threads on all forums

I don't know if this will work, but I think it will help. I'm not sure what the thresholds will be (they will probably change with experience). The idea is that the poster will need to invest in the boards and demonstrate worthiness to achieve full membership. Once membership is achieved, participants will be rewarded for good behavior with continued membership. If they are banned, they will need to go back to level one again.

My forums are not sports forums, so my goal is primarily to ward off spammers, but I think it would work on sports forums as well. The mods could let anyone into the JV forums then promote them to the Pros as appropriate. Posters like Aqua and ColtInIraq would be welcome as contributors but PornBoy would probably not invest the good posts required to get to the Pros. Banned members would not be able to come right back on with a new id. Those who choose not to look at the JV forums.

What do you think?

What do you think?

It's a decision that board 'owners' have to make. Patriots Planet, for example, has an assclown forum where they put people who annoy them enough to pull them from the main boards, but not enough to earn a banning. It really depends on what sort of board you're looking for. I personally prefer a wide open board with lots of back and forth and moderation only for dealing with the worst of idiots and trolls, but Sons of Sam Horn went in a completely different direction, for example.

I've never joined SoSH, but I enjoy reading the posts of others. It is a decision for the mods to make. Maybe that makes this thread moot? Fact is, you are right. The mods are responsible for the bad behavior of the posters. On his board, for instance, there were a number of pornographic images posted this week. The mods let the offensive poster inside then were *very* slow to clean things up.

My comment that the Indystar board is of no concern of ours referred to "the sad condition of your board is not something we care about". Because we don't.

for people that don't care, there sure are alot of you on that board all the time including you..not that I care because the place would be boring if we didn't have other teams posting their opinions..

But you don't post there. But you don't care. But you don't post there. But you don't care. But you don't post there..........etc....etc....etc....;)

Try to follow the logic here. This post was in response to a post on Indystar that discussed how that board was deteriorating. some of our members seemed to show concern and I countered that most of us don't care if your board goes downhill because THAT is the responsibility of IndyStar members & mods.

The reasons I post there have to do with my interests in the topics. But I could care less if you guys can't manage the welfare of your own board.

So yes, I DO post there AND I don't care...the former has nothing to do with the latter.

You forgot the part where you're a fool, and thus everything fools you, pats1yes. I also read Indystar daily, and I won't use a foul excuse like watching stocks. Surely, the WSJ would be a more apt and concise place to do that. Unless you mean you lost alot of money gambling in the stock market, and idled your time between bad decisions on Indystar?

You're not fooling anyone either. I remember a crumbling and dusty apology from a guy over there that 'had a bad day at the office', and chose to take it out on me. He mentioned he lost a large amount of money that day and I became his target. That wouldn't be the same said you here, would it? If so, you're hardly in a position to talk about matters such as trolling when you can't even confine your temper within your own mind, but I digress....

I've been a member over there since 2003, and unless you've been there since then and know what we've had to endure through your championships, and us losing up in your house, and being beaten by the Jets and Steelers, you really cannot fathom the level of trolldom your own fans can reach. They can be bloodless, relentless, innovatively cruel, and can do so en mass. Imagine the joy of losing to the Jets in the playoffs, only to be beaten down and berated, not by Jet fans, but Pastie fans, daily on that board. You'll never win in our house, Peyton can't win the big one ever, Dungy can't win the big one...

Then there were the derogatory posts. Peyton's forehead, NE fans creating names just to insult the team (and thereby, the fans), you flippin' name it, we heard it.

So, have a little grace and humility when you get linked over there about some perceived indiscretion or thread that catches the jolly of 'one that goes both ways' meaning a cross poster. We aren't bad folk there, and most of the Pat related posts or insults are well deserved because of the filth manufactured there BY Pastie fans BEFORE there was a Mod. Pastie fans choking our board and even proclaiming it their own. I doubt you'd like that if Jet fan set up residence here and there were no mods to sweep away the garbage.

This is my first and probably my last post here, but I personally just can't abide when ignorance or outright lies stand. I think both sides of this can agree that any spread of ignorance is an insult to society.

Belated happy Thanksgiving, and best to you and your team.

If you feel that any spread of ignorance is an insult to society, why did you just post this garbage?

I agree - true Pats fans don't need to go to other team's board to tease other fans... besides that's like taking candy from a baby.

Uncool
