Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

My point is Brady didn't go through that not even for one game.

Err.... he did....alot. Check your facts. 2003 and 2004 were some of the worst injuries plague that the Pats suffer through. Yet we won the SB.

I think we set NFL record of injuries in 2004.

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

where did all the Colt fans go that were here a short while ago?

They all hunkerin down. Real low. :rocker: :rocker:

That was soooo Sweeeeet!

I still can't believe it.

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

'01 may be a wash
'03 hell no. Wayne is a 1000 yard receiver with loads of talent, Thorpe played well, and Addai is a Pro Bowl back. Branch is slightly above average, Givens was nothing spectacular in '03, and Smith is and was garbage. No way in hell. Quality over quantity.
'04 I agree.
'05 Does not even need to be argued, almost all of the Patriots players, with the exception of Watson and the combo of Dillon & Maroney are nothing more than replacement players. And the three real talents last year all spent time sidelined with injuries/age.

There is no comparison.

+1. And '06 doesn't even need to be discussed. Caldwell and Maroney can't compare to Wayne and Addai.

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

Brady had a healthy freakin o-line we were on our 3rd string LT and we moved guys in places they normally don't play.

When we mashed tampa this year no one had a word to say.

Dude, what is wrong with your kicker?

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

The other key point here is that we now have even more evidence that Peyton can't play in inclement weather.

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

2001: Brown, Patten, Wiggens, Charles Johnson and Antowain Smith may be close to a wash with what the Colts had on the field tonight.

2003: Branch, Givens, Graham, Patten, Antowain Smith and Brown are better than what the Colts had out there tonight.

2004: Branch, Givens, Graham, Patten, Corey Dillon and Brown are far better than what the Colts had on the field tonight.

2005: Caldwell, Gaffney, Brown, Graham, Watson, Dillon, Maroney, Brown and Jackson is better than what the Colts had on the field tonight. The Colts had Wayne, Moorehead, Thorpe and a bunch of TE's. I give the edge to the Pats in terms of better recievers to throw to.

Granted, Manning was missing his top three recievers and I see this game as a fluke. The rain may have played a part as well in throwing 6 INT's. Rivers looked like a chump as well.
03 though Patten was out 11 games. Remember Tom threw more than a few TDs to Bethel Johnson and Dedric Ward?

Are you insane?

In both 2003 and 2004 we lost over 40 starters in each season. Brady has played games where Dan Koppen and Matt Light were out, and before Mankins our line was mostly free agents and undrafted guys.

We did, we broke the record set in 2003 by the New England Patriots.:D

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

He said, so now Manning is missing his weapons and he is playing very poorly.

He said he still had Wayne, a pro bowler and Adai.

He then went on to say that was still more talent then Brady had surrounding him during his three Superbowls.

Glad to hear a sock puppet starting to state the obvious.

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

Peymeayontochoke Manning says it all. Statboy now has 8 ints in last 2 games. LOL LOL

Actually, in another sign of pro-Manningism, they counted his second INT as a "fumble" "recovered" by Colvin. ;)

Waaahhh. Call the Waahmbulance. The Indianapolis Poliannas choke away another win. Too funny.

Dude, the Bolts stink! YOu just lost to the frick'n Bolts!

The freak'n Vikes beat them!

Remember when Brady was the most hit qb in the NFL? That wasn't because he held onto the ball too long. The line was shakey. You probably think the O-line of the Colts was weak tonight even though it actually did very well despite the injuries. But remember, you're used to seeing one of the very best O-lines in the league. Peyton has enjoyed awesome protection his entire career. He rarely gets touched in most years. Brady has already gone through these tribulations time and time again. Just be thankful that Peyton doesn't experience the hits that Brady has taken over the years.

Thanks, I knew the pats set the record, just unsure which SB run year:D

Colts fans who whine about injuries, sorry but we Pats fans have been there, seen it.

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

Okay but why is it that you must win with the worst team possible to be great, that's just silly.

Do you ever answer a question, or address a point made against your argument? No, of course not, you've got nothing. You claim Brady never went through this, numerous examples to the contrary are provided, including back to back Superbowl wins, and you just try to change the subject, and even worse you do it with a straw-man argument. No one said you had to win with the worst possible team to be great, just that if you want your team to be considered in the same class as the Pats (which they aren't, and never will be), they'd have to win the same way, which they can't, and if you want people to feel sorry for your crappy team because of all their injuries, you won't get any sympathy here, because we've been there and done that, and we've won in spite of it. Now, get the hell off these boards.

Bull,

The 2003 Patriots had the largest amount of missed games by starters then any other SB team in history.

It was like in the 80's.

At that point the second place team was about half.

The next season the 2004 Pats where the second most starters missing for a SB team.

Brady, with healthy recievers had less talent around him then Manning did today, and has been around just as decimated by injury teams. A whole lot more then one game!

This just ahppens to be the first time the Colts have had to deal with it

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

The vikes are healthy and AP would run on the pats like Addai did.
Probably.

And the Vikes would lose like the Colts did. Except they would likely lose by far more.

Y'all healthy team only beat the bolts because an idiot tried to lateral on a Int when he should have gotten down. Like I said in the game thread. We win it's because Nov sucks and rivers sucks. We lose, no excuses.

The vikes are healthy and AP would run on the pats like Addai did.

Nice way to make an argument that isn't even falsifiable, but if we played the Vikings, I hope AP would run on the Pats the way Addai did. He'd get nothing in the second half, and the Pats would win. And if your half-rate team had won, it would have been because of Rivers, because your team sure didn't do anything to make him that awful, he was managing it all on his own.

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

Ok back on topic-I cannot believe Deion freakin' Sanders pointed this out and not once did I hear uber-analysts Michaels or Madden address this. Last year Brady probably couldn't remember his WR's names and he came within a couple of minutes of another Super Bowl-and they're amazed Peyton ALMOST won against a TERRIBLE team because he is missing a couple of offensive parts?? Puleaze!!! This season will show what Pats fans have known all along-with JAG players Brady was great-with first rate talent, Brady is the best there is, case closed.

Re: Dieon Sanders "we need to revisit Manning VS Brady"

We only had 17 guys(most got injured in the game itself) dressed to play and ppl are judging Manning's whole career on this game. Pats fans like it or not he's going to the HOF even if he retires right now.

But he's still not better than Brady.
