Buffalo sucks though and their D was never really good to begin with.
The numbers you're so fond of say that their defense is pretty good - not as good as the Redskins but good - except when they play the Patriots.

Sure I can. Buffalo is allowing 18.8 against non Patriot opponents, we scored 38.

Yea but who are those non patriot opponents? Certainly not top ranked offensive teams. Skins shut down 2 of the top passers in 2 consecutive weeks.

The Redskin defense is good. Probably very good. But, so far, the Patriots' offense is the best in the history of the league - look it up through 7 weeks - and the Redskin defense isn't nearly THAT good. I really don't care what you did against Jon Kitna.

Dude.... i never once doubted that or have said anything implying i didnt think the Patriots offense was Historical. Im just saying you cannot compare us to teams like the Bills and the Dolphins. Just wont work. If you put up 38 on them.... i say you put up anywhere from 21-28 against us.

Buffalo is averaging allowing 4 more points than you. We scored 38. Maybe your opponents were tougher - or maybe they looked like it because they played in the Girls Conference. A score of about 27-13 seems reasonable to me - which is generous given that in our last 13 games we have scored less than 34 only twice and they were against last year's excellent SD and Jax defenses.

The Pats should win by a healthy margin, but unless there's a history I'm unaware of, I don't see BB running the score up against Joe Gibb ('s team) unless it's deemed necessary in the end.

The redskins shut down the best offenses in the league this year. Packers, Lions, Cardinals. I don't know who else, but that's enough for me. They are for real and don't expect Brady to dominate their defense just because we dominated the pathetic Dolphins. Taylor leads the NFL in interceptions and deflections i believe, he's a playmaker and if we don't watch out, if we don't play smart, he could return a pick for a TD. Plus their defensive line and linebackers are playing terrific as well. Their OLB McIntosh sucks in coverage but that's about it. Maybe we can hurt them with Welker in the slot.

You have to be kidding me...

And you do know they are in the NFC where QB's throw as many picks as TD's? They barely escaped the mighty Arizona Cardinals yesterday led by the incredible one armed man and his fresh off the couch goal line side kick. Warner threw for 282 yards and 2 TD's plus the obligatory 2 picks with one arm literally tied behind his back. Because Rackers had a PA blocked forcing a 2 point attempt they missed and he spit the bit on a 55 yard FG he used to made routinely after they recovered an onside kick with seconds remaining...

Pahleese...just stop.

Washington plays like a team with 26 assistant head coaches and no accountability. The bone head penalties and lack of discipline yesterday were otherwise inexplicable.

First I have a lot of respect for the Patriots. However, Not to sound like a complete homer but I believe the Skins will give the Patriots offense their toughest test. I think the biggest key will be the play of Sean Taylor. Do not underestimate the fear that Moss and Stallworth will feel going over the middle. They have been blown up by Taylor when they played in the NFC.The secondary of the Redskins has 4 top 7 draft picks who can all cover any one of your receivers. Moss will not out jump Taylor and Springs. This is why the skins will play you tough but not win. The skins offense right now is just not good enough yet to keep the defense off of the field and they will wear out. I wouldn't be throwing your rent money at the Pats covering. Good luck and enjoy, its not very often where you have two head coaches with a combined 6 super bowl wins between them.

The last time the Pats beat the Redskins was in 1972, 24 to 23. The Pats were godawful that year and Skins when to the Super Bowl. What is sad i remember that game.

Just remember, it took one of them 12 years to win 3, he hasn't won one in the salary cap era and his most recent championships have involved nothing but left turns. Amazing your secondary struggled with the Cards last night, I guess they were too busy committing stupid penalties to cover.

NFC fans are in such denial.

Our secondary is the best in the NFC and our safety Sean Taylor is the best in the NFL leading the NFL in ints (5) and passes defensed (14).

I'm glad you're taking this game lightly. I know our defense won't be.

Actually he won in 83 87 91 and lost in 84. I believe that is an 8 year span. Yes he has not won one yet in the salary cap era but Gibbs won 3 super bowls with 3 different qb's. Not trying to get in a pissing contest but rather enjoy it because this probably will not happen again for a long time.
I was at the game and the secondary looked great for the most part. Taylor is the league leader now in ints. BTW no denial here the AFC is much better than the NFC right now but I still think this is the best defense the patriots have faced.

No chance the Pats score less then 31 points, IMO. Any other year, I would't say that.

The Skins will be good for at least 10 points, unless their O-Line is really in bad shape. I see them possibly getting a couple touchdowns, although I don't know how banged up they are. Portis in particular could have a pretty good day.

Our defense is solid, but I have not seen them really prevent a team from scoring some points yet this year during the normal course of the game.

Our offense is as good as they look....

If the lowly doofins can get 28 against us.......how do you figure that the skins who are definitely better than Miami (although have been very lucky to be 4-2 right now.....they could very well be 2-4 if not for some lucky outcomes) will only get 10 points on us? Thx

Read my post again and you will notice I said AT LEAST 10 points.

I think the final score is 31-17.

My opinion of the game is not going to change just because some Redskin fans showed up here.

I know who the Pats are, and I live in Virginia so I have a good idea who the Redskins are...

The Redskins have not really been kicking on all cylinders since Marty-ball left town, and even then they were inconsistent. This team has been mostly smoke and mirrors with Gibbs. The 2005 playoff run was a weak effort.

When Greg Williams was with the Bills, they had one of the best defenses in the league for a while, and the results were the same.

Every team plays us tough. It's been that way since 2002.

There is no way the Pats score under 30 points.

All of the "predictions" of The Pats scoring around 20 points are based on the fact that we are averaging almost 40ppg. Ok, I think cutting our points in half is a bit much, but you aren't even considering everything.

So far this season, we have BLOWN away teams in the FIRST half, and simply ran the ball for most of the rest of the game. If we are in a close game, we won't just try to run down the clock, we are going to pass and go for scores. Our offense could have EASLY scored 50+ points in at least 3 games this season, probably more. But instead of going to the air in the second 1/2, we just ran the ball and let our D do work.

If our D shuts down the Skins, then yes, we might be around 28-34 points. If the Skins manage to score a bunch, then we could easily put up 40+. Its all about how big a lead we have, and when we have it.

I thought they just dominated seven teams in a row.

I must have dreamt up six dominations.

I'll try to be more accurate after this.

Well, Mo is an integral part of the Pats offense.;)

(Newsflash: it actually doesn't matter what the fans think.)

The Lions had the top NFC passing game coming into their game against the Skins, ditto the Packers. Yeah the AFC is better but since when does Brett Favre suck? Neither QB did much of anything against the Skins defense.

I read one thread about how the Skins are no Dallas Cowboys, & perhaps so. But the Skins have beaten the Cowboys three of the last four times.

Your team is clicking on all cylinders so maybe its tough to see the rest of the NFL and the ups and downs predicated a lot on injuries. But the Skins had three backup lineman playing against the Cards with a 4th guy playing hurt. The center made his first start ever. And our backup RT who is now a starter had to play with a groin pull becuase his backup was hurt.

Last season the Skins had one of the best offensive lines in football, this year injuries have killed it. And if any team should get the power of continuity on the offensive line for chemistry reasons -- it should be you guys. The line should be somewhat healthier for this week though far from 100%.

But yeah if you look at it from our point of a view a team with Jason Campbell, Clinton Portis, Ladell Betts, Santana Moss, Randle El, and Chris Cooley, & pro bowler Chris Samuels at LT -- should score some points. Its just a matter of time. Might not be this week but trust me you aren't getting the worst team in the NFL headed to your stadium this Sunday.

Just remember, it took one of them 12 years to win 3, he hasn't won one in the salary cap era and his most recent championships have involved nothing but left turns. Amazing your secondary struggled with the Cards last night, I guess they were too busy committing stupid penalties to cover.

I assume you were watching the game so you get the context of what went down? If so, and that's your opinion, cool enough. If you didn't watch it basically the Redskins offense shut down, three and out, three and out. The offense with their patchwork line looked pathetic. If you want to pick on the Skins that's what's being picked on.

Go read the DC papers or national ones NOBODY is picking on the Skins defense for that game. The D were responsible for 2 of the Skins three scores. At the end of the game they were basically on the field for 15 of the last 20 minutes and by then they were exhausted. Still that wasn't the whole drill. one of their touch downs were set up after the Skins stopped them and the refs called 2 questionable 15 yard penalties to keep their drive alive and help them score.

The Skins offense is VERY questionable the way they are playing. But they got the tools to break out of it. If you think the Redskins have a ragtag defense, my friend you will be dissapointed. Yeah the Patriots are explosive and likely can beat up any good defense but they are indeed playing a good defense.
