Don't get me wrong, I'm as giddy as anybody about the first three games. But it does seem as though Brady has made the choice that Randy Moss will "the guy" rather than simply hitting the open guy--on Moss' second TD in particular, I think Gaffney was far more open than Moss was.

So the question is, will this be a sticking point with the other guys? I know it seems laughable with the way things or going, but the secret of this team until now has been their team first/individual-stats second.

I would bench him next week. ;)

Yes, but only in a good way!

I don't think it will hurt, but I was just about to start a thread that I'm a little worried - a TINY little bit - that Stallworth isn't getting much attention. I'd like to see him more involved. I just think Moss is doing such a great job of getting open that it's hard to pass it up.

If Moss' success ends up hurting the team, the Patriots are not the quality gorup of men I thought they were...period, end of story.

All I can say is, it better not!

P.S. I meant to make this reply to Aluminumseats...sorry Patsox!

You can somewhat equate this to Christmas morning. You remember you open all of the presents and one really sticks out. You play with that one over and over again. The other presents get some time - very minimal at first but when the novelty of playing with that one great present over and over again wears off then the other toys get their time (unless it is the pair of socks that Grandma sent).

The Celtics used to let Bird take a few more shots. These guys are athletes, they know Moss has special talents.

They also know they'd better work hard anyway or they'll get nada and possibly a ticket to palookaville.

Moss will make the other receivers on the team better. For example on the td pass to Gaffney Moss ran a post took all the db's with him leaving Gaffeny all alone for the easy TD. He has lets holes that have resulted in opening for Welker and Watson. Stallworth will get his reps.

No...because at some point, MOss will be covered more..and the otehrs will be more open..these guys are a good group of receivers..Heard a blip on RRI this AM about how they were hanging out a bit together..Moss, Welker, Gaffney, Moss...so I don't think chemsitry will be a problem..

Wouldn't all the WRs know pretty well what they were getting into once they knew Randy was signed?? So, I don't think his dominance would create any issues. Should be expected and IMO, the other WRs will be elated if Randy is double-teamed and they put up some impressive #s.

Are you a Sox fan? I only ask because you seem to be looking for rainclouds behind a magnificent rainbow. Randy Moss in single coverage is beyond open. Gaffney had a shot at a TD with a guy in his pocket and he muffed the catch. Randy is in another league, they all accept it. This isn't Pop Warner or the under talented overachiever version of the dynasty that we fielded of necessity for 5 years. Keeping him happy/focused is more important to team chemistry than keeping Gaffney happy. Gaffney needs to keep working and try harder. Ditto Stallworth. Winnning will manage team chemistry.

What an utterly bizarre bunch Patriots fan are, at times.

Mr Gifthorse wants to know if you are a qualified dentist?

You must be out of your mind.

After how another Gator receiver let us down against Indy, I'd trust Moss to make the catch more.

The team has been about winning for about 6 or 7 years now. I don't think winning burns chemistry.

As long as he is open he will get the ball.
For Reche Caldwell to be open there needs to be 5 yards of air around him.
For Randy to be open, he needs to be single/double teamed with green grass ahead of him.

So once team DO cover Moss properly meaning that Brady will think it would be unwise to toss him the ball, other receivers WILL be open.
I imagine Stallworth is going to have a coming out party soon.

Passes are still being distributed to several players, so no. But Donte Stallworth getting so few of them is probably making him impatient. Just keep in mind that inevitably Moss cannot be this dominant in every game of the season. Having other weapons like Welker, Watson, and Stallworth will come in handy.

That said, as long as the schmucks lining up across from Moss can't cover him, keep feeding him the rock. :rocker:
