More recently, the San Diego Chargers increased their security several years ago at a hill overlooking the practice field at the team facility during weeks when they played the Denver Broncos. Why? It turns out Broncos coach Mike Shanahan had been hiring spies to videotape the Chargers practices. The NFL had been aware of it for several years (at least one NFL official had seen one of the tapes), but didn't step in because it was considered a team issue.

Re: Did you know?!

WTF.
This makes the NFL look bad for a double standard.
It makes Mangini look even worse.

Re: Did you know?!

Nice. Super nice.

Yet they'll get off scot-free.

Re: Did you know?!

My only suggestion is to email that to these dumbass national writers and hopefully more of these fraud holier than thou teams will be exposed in the near future

Nice find...

Re: Did you know?!

What's the problem? It's not against league rules.

Re: Did you know?!

There is a huge double standard. But what pisses me off the most now, is that every single reporter, whether they are in support of or against the whole situation, CONTINUES to talk about the incident as a case of STEALING SIGNALS. There's no way the video could be used that game and there is no way their signals are gonna be the same the next time we play them. They were taping to study HUMAN TENDENCIES not the friggin defensive signs. Sure part of that may be inferring a signal based on a studied tendency. But everyone just keeeps on talking about it as though we were taping to steal their signals. They all say BB was dumb for doing it so obvious... HELLO he wasn't stealing signals with the video! Stealing signals by recording from the back isn't the best way to go about it anyway. Honest to goodness no body uses their brain these days, they just jump to the first conclusion they can think of.

/end rant (sorry)

You have to make at least 2 or 3 logical jumps to figure that out. The media caters to people who have a 1 logical jump limit.

Re: Did you know?!

they weren't recording from the back, they were recording from the front. across the field.

as for watching practice from a hill, that is not illegal. If you think they are trying to bury that other teams do this, i disagree. I've read about 50 reports this of how teams spy on each other. However none of the other teams were warned a week before not to do it and did it anyway.

So, you have definitive proof that no other teams were filing their opponents last Sunday (or Thursday)?

You must have some really good sources.

1) Where's the proof of where exactly they were filming from?

2) Give me your "professional" opinion of what you think the tape was intended for and explain further how they would go about accomplishing this

3) Read the exact rule, word for word, to see how interpretations of it are requred

4) How big of an offense do you believe breaking this exact specific rule is and why? Murder and speeding are both against the law, one of which is much more severe

Re: Did you know?!

Where's the outrage from the media and the rest of the league? Ohh wait, it's not the Patriots.

Why can't you just let this die? If other teams are caught breaking a rule, they will be punished. "Other people were doing it" is not a defense. We were stupid enough to break the rule in front of someone who knew we were going to break it. We have paid, and now I for one would like to move on, but this board has been hijacked by insipid cop-out arguments.

Neither is stealing signals from tape.

In case you didn't notice, the commish makes the rules. And he interprets them how he wants.

Maybe we should just let the game tomorrow speak for itself...

Fron or back. Had the video camera been in the coach's booth instead of the sidelines there would have been no violation of NFL rules.

nice find also from my side-thks
