Re: Game #2 The Chargers Come To Foxboro

How do you afford living in Socal on a teacher's salary and pension? Aren't houses there about 700K for a 2000 sq foot?

How do you like it? The weather is nice but how about the smog and crime and illegals?

You should be banned, you racist piece of ****!

whoever makes the less costly mistakes and plays smarter, will win

pretty basic

Yeh, how dare someone disparage pollution, crime or criminals.

Two words: Norv Turner. No need to worry 'bout the Bolts this year, even if they do pull the upset in week 2. Although I think it's more likely that the "sorriest corner in the league" will run back an INT for the winning score. :D

"Illegals" is a derogatory term. Calling someone that carries the same purpose of other hate words, the clear message; "You're inferior to me."

Not looking past the J-E-R-K-S at all, but the only thing I'll mention about the Chargers is this...Bill Belichick vs. Norv Turner will probably be worth at least a 14-point swing.

A columnist here in Kansas City by the name of Joe Posnanski commented in the Kansas City Star after his hiring:

"...even single-cell organisms know not to hire Norv Turner..."

I own two condos in Laguna Woods. I purchased them in 1998 for a total of $140,000 for both. My mom lived in one, and the bride and I lived in the other. My mom died in 2001, and we rent that condo. We don't have children, so we have been able to save...my wife works part-time about 24 hours a week, and I substitute about 60 days a year. The two could now be sold for around $500k. Once they decided not to make the old El Toro MCAS into an airport, property values skyrocketed. My taxes on the two properties total about $1550 a year...bless Prop 13.

But, you are correct. This area is expensive, and the lifestyle of most people involves commutes, long work weeks, and an incredibly competitive lifestyle. If the jobs in this area go south, people who have huge mortgages...and there are a lot...take baths when they sell their homes, and usually have to leave the state. We are fortunate..not having mortgages and receiving rental income in addition to pensions, part-time work, interest income, and a small social security check each month make life out here sweet. I definitely would not want to live like many others in the area...huge debt.

Orange County is crowded, and the freeways can be a hassle, but we don't have to use them a great deal. We love California and especially south Orange County. The sports are the best in the world from high school through the pros..Lakers, Angels, Clippers, Dodgers, Padres, Chargers, Ducks, Kings, USC, UCLA all within the immediate area. If you like high school football, OC competes with some of the rabid HS football areas in Texas for superior talent.

The weather is the best it can get, and the smog is practically non-existant where we are. Crime as well is pretty low in south OC. Illegals fill a huge labor void in the area....landscaping, agriculture, hotel and restaurant industry, home care and caregiving, and casual labor are all areas that the local economy can't fill..."others" can.

We like to hike deserts and climb mountains..we both run five miles a day in the hills, and we love 3-4 day road trips. The West and the Southwest can't be beat for those endeavors, and California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado are terrific places to play. Here is our WEBSHOTS site. There are dozens of photo albums that document our activities here on the west coast if you are interested in great scenery and activities. http://community.webshots.com/user/mountainmaster2003

I seriously doubt if we will ever return to the northeast. All our family now lives out here. My wife is from Westbury, N.Y., and her mom lives about a half mile from us, and we have family in San Diego and LA.

If there is anything I miss about New England, it is the seafood...it is the best in the world.

OK...so much for the Jets. The Patriots lived up to all the pre-season hype. Moss will be a great addition if he stays healthy, and that offensive line gave Brady eons of time to do what Brady does best....now let's move on to the EVENT of the regular season.

Next Sunday night in Foxboro a hungry and vengeance seeking Charger team will come into Gillette with the goal of humiliating the Pats. their fans are convinced they can lay waste to our great team.

You can go to their site and read some of the hateful comments they make...not all of them..:D..but enough to make the blood perk. http://forums.chargers.com/search.php?searchid=640411

We need to openly and frankly discuss this upcoming game, and NOW IS THE TIME TO START!!!!

Let the discussion begin.

Wow we are stomping the Jets!! I'm loving this.
Hey remember how I compared Moss to Michael Irvin?
Wow those words look prophetic now.
And my game score prediction is only off by 1 pt so far. ;-)

They double teamed both Moss and Welker. The Pats offensive line gave Brady all the time he needed. They didn't turn over the ball. No one got injured, and there weren't a whole lot of Patriot penalties. VERY impressive.

Bring on the Chargers.

Let's run play action to randy moss! ;-)

Another TD, but this time by Heath Evans.
Maroney owners beware, Evans may be the Pats new goalline TD vulture!
Well this spoils my chances of winning the score prediction, but I don't care.
It is WELL worth it to see the Jets get shellacked! hohoho!

The Bears just intercepted Rivers in San Diego. Their defense has pretty much stifled LT, but Gates has been impressive...except for the interception.

No score...the Bears blocked a field goal attempt.

Bears drill a field goal for a 3-0 lead....2nd quarter.

Bears defense is strong, but it has been for a while now. Sooner or later Grossman will cough up the ball. That is when the worm turns.

The Chargers bulletin board has been lit up since their playoff loss last January with a whole lot of 'hate the Patriots' stuff. They are all bruised and condemn Ellis Hobbs and a couple others for disrespecting them by dancing on their mid-field logo.

The Chargers are loaded both on offense and on defense. The Pats took advantage of Charger errors in January and beat the favored team on their home turf.

The Chargers have changed coaches, but essentially their team is in tact and healthy. Tomlinson has yet to suit up...he played no games in the pre-season, and Shawn Merriman is chomping at the bit to get at the Pats offense.

The last time the Chargers came into Foxboro they buried the Pats.

What do you think will happen with this great match up in Foxboro on September 16? The players shouldn't look beyond Sunday's game, but we can do it. Do the Patriots really have the tools to beat an incredibly well-manned San Diego Charger team, and what will they have to do to beat them?

I am so looking forward to the Chargers coming to Foxboro next week! I've joined the Chargers Fan forum several times under various screennames because they are so sensitive, they keep banning me. I'm dead serious when I tell you I've never said anthing that chargers fans would get banned on this site for.

Last week I brought up their ticket policy they implemented to prevent Pats fans from getting tickets. One fan called me a liar, so I pasted an article from the LA Times that proved they tried to prevent Pats fans from getting tickets to the AFC semi-finals...and they "suspended" me.

Of course I'm going to re-join under a different name, but it's unbelieveable how easy it is to be suspended. If chargers fans insult the Patriots and Pats fans do the same in turn, they are warned or suspended without warning.

On our site, we welcome the trash talk! After all, isn't that what fan forums are all about? To all visiting Chargers fans, I WILL be back on your site today!:D

BTW, did we look surprisingly good today or what?!!

If they are illegal, then they should be called illegals...just common sense.

If you're a thief, you should be called a thief because you break the law. If you break our immigration law, you should be called an illegal. It's not derogatory, it's just the proper name for the law the person is breaking!

Is calling someone a thief a hate word?

Good was figured, but what that offensive line and our receivers did today bordered on great for a first game of the season. Let's hope they don't let down.:singing:

I think that the Chargers fans are very misguided sometimes......so many never obviously heard teh video of their team absolutely trashing and disrespecting the Pats after that home game you are referring to, and the endless trashtalking by Merriman and others the week prior to their game last year...........all while the Pats players remained relatively quiet that week.....Made Merriman look like a horse's you know what!

In all seriousness, I do NOT see the Pats losing to SD at the Razor.....especially after what I saw today......I think it will be a close game...and will post my prediction later this week.....

Bears drill a field goal for a 3-0 lead....2nd quarter.
BTW, did you know the game is on national TV? We don't need you to do a play by play for us on a Patriots board.

Are we allowed to talk about this game yet? ;)

I was shocked at how good NE looked today. We're in midseason form. Meanwhile, SD looks real flat at home. Good chance they could start the season 0-2.

I just wasn't expecting the offense to be clicking like it is. We just need to show up at home vs. SD. I don't want a repeat of the "revenge" game vs. Denver in last year's regular season game. :(
