I thought that this was a great preseason game.

OFFENSE
1) We really do have a running game without Maroney. Faulk look great. Morris looked OK. And Evans looked OK. We don't need more with Maroney out.
2) The offense did very well indeed. Stallworth will fix his errors. Welker and Gaffney continue to look fine. Caldwell is playing himself out of a job.
3) I still like Rivers over Mills at TE.
4) This offense is ready to go. Of course, Maroney, Brady and Moss will make the offense that much better.

DEFENSE
5) The starting defense was awesome, without Seymour, Warren or Samuel.
6) LeKevin has made the team. Congrats.
7) Green looked great.
8) We have a great starting FIVE at linebacker.
9) Gay is back for the second week. Welcome back!!
10) Harrison AND Wilson are back. Sanders is a quality backup and STer.

NEGATIVES WITH REGARD TO THE CORE PLAYERS
For me, there were none, other than hoping the missing players will be back soon.

I guess the bright side is its the established players who aren't playing well (Brady, Light, etc).

Mills has been largely invisible, which sucks as I'd rather keep him over Rivers. At least he's got some potential.

Love the depth at safety. Nice to see Rodney flying around, so Sanders won't be forced to start right away and can continue to develop. I suspect we'll see him in on a lot of passing downs, though, and should Harrison go down it won't be nearly the cause for worry as in year's past.

Has anyone ever seen Mills line up in the backfield as an H-back??

If they do not plan to use him in that role/ old Keith Byars role, then I would think he has little chance to make this team.

Mills isn't doing much to impress. On Cassel's second interception the ball was thrown to Mills and bounced right off his hands.

As another person who feels good about last night, I have to acknowledge that the OL was horrendous last night. I'm just not worried about it.

If that's a performance we will label as GREAT, I'm having a tough time feeling good about the rest of the season.

This makes no sense, MoFo. If LAST night qualifies as "great," our season is going to be miraculously, stupendously awesome.

I would label that performance as average at best, maybe even below average. I just feel that we are a whole lot better and I hope that last night's game isn't the type of performance that we will be using as a measuring stick of a great performance. I agree that our first team defense did some great things, even with missing several regular starters. I did not think too highly of the offensive performance.

Irrationally exuberant, mg !

It WAS great to WATCH.

I took away a different impression.

2) The offense did very well indeed.
If you mean the offense directed by Kerry Collins and Tim Rattay, then i see your point.
But not otherwise.

Stallworth will fix his errors. Welker and Gaffney continue to look fine. Caldwell is playing himself out of a job.
None of those guys worry me.
Would you repeat what you wrote about the offensive line?

3) I still like Rivers over Mills at TE.
4) This offense is ready to go.
Take away that torrent of Titans' penalties
when our starters were in ...
and the star of the evening would have been Danny Baugher!

Of course, Maroney, Brady and Moss will make the offense that much better.
At least Maroney and Moss should.
Brady WAS there.

DEFENSE
5) The starting defense was awesome, without Seymour, Warren or Samuel.

Agreed.

I don't regard Watson ... Light ... Mankins ... Koppen ... Neal ... or Kaycur
as core players either.

I realize that the production crew, cameramen, and announcers screwed up the presentation
... but you were watching a whole different ballgame.

are you like this in every facet of your life?

this team is looking good as it makes player evals and tries different looks...without maroney, seymour, moss and more...

no nabobs allowed

Wow. Who can argue with that comprehensive analysis?

Perhaps it's just you -- I agree with his assessment.

I really enjoyed the 1st half. That goal line stand had me cheering. Rodney's hit on Vince was clean and awesome. I was surprised to see Dante play considering the field conditions. Our OL did a poor job pass protecting though. I thought Adalius' performance was better than last week but still not to the level of expectation.

It was only preseason but enjoyable.

So I take it you'd be happy with 16 more games like this? I guess you're just happy with getting by.

Take the goggles off. Brady isn't looking good and the offensive line isn't looking good, not as good as they can look. It doesn't matter if Maroney and Moss aren't there. If Brady and the line fail, we fail.

Well, jeez, why even bother playing the regular season. We look like crap now, there's no way we stand a chance in regs.

Whenever Brady gets hit a lot, it makes everyone nervous and freak out a little. At least I know I do. Improved OL play next time will make me much happier. Team health, and Brady's health in particular, is really the only thing I am concerned about during the preseason. So overall poor play, sloppy play doesn't worry me right now, poor play by the OL does because it puts Brady at risk. So here's hoping for some improvement next game.

If the OL steps it up I will feel better. The starting D was tremendous, the O was fine except for the OL.

Is anybody saying the team is crap and has no chance in the regular season? What it's not OK to critcize your favorite team anymore. I take it you thought Brady and the line looked great.

Me and a few others are criticizing the performances of the past few weeks because we feel the team can get better. But most here just want to look the other way, believing that the performances we've seen the past two weeks is great football.

Brady's numbers didn't look too bad considering the protection he was getting.
You said it yourself on the OL analysis thread with your comments about Light.
and I backed you up.:D
