Bullseye.Michael Hurley has a decent summary of the reactions from the Giants:
Jason Pierre-Paul On Josh Brown's Alleged Domestic Violence: 'It Doesn't Matter'
I'm not worked up about Pierre-Paul's comments, but find Manning, McAdoo, and Herzlich's prior remarks more damning. In a nutshell, all of them said in the past that they have zero tolerance for anyone involved in domestic violence. Then, the a member of the Giants is involved in a DV case and none of them has anything to say. All that "No More" talk was just empty blather.
Manning also had this to say in 2014: "We've got to make sure that's not happening. We can't accept that as players, can't accept that from our teammates around the league."
Not surprisingly, the "tough" NY media isn't taking the Giants to task. Bart Hubbuch, who had the torches and pitchforks out for Brady, hasn't written one article about a situation in his own city.
Edit to add: Some in the media took Brady to task for not speaking out against DV like Eli Manning. Those same people loved that Eli made those comments. Where are those critics now?
I'd like to hear more about this.
I never knew this, but I am not surprised. What a dirtbag.I can address, in a limited way, the lawyer part of this. I couldn't track down the interview and exact quote, but, several years ago, someone asked Goodell a question that included a phrase like "As a lawyer, what do you..." Goodell never corrected the interviewer and let the impression stand that he is an attorney.
If someone posed a question to you and introduced it by saying "As a doctor/Pulitzer prize winner/licensed plumber/gourmet chef/etc..." and that description was not accurate, a normal reaction would be to dispel the notion that you are something that you are not in your response. The desire to correct this should be even stronger if you knew this interview was going to be published. Goodell chose not to do this.
As Putin's Minister of Computer Hacking, I can understand the dynamic involved.I first SHOWED that clip here at Patsfans back in 2009 I believe. I think it was Roy Firestone. ESPN excised the clip, after it was up for quite a while, within a week of it being posted HERE.

I hope so, too, but it's not happening. Just another example of The Dope and his owners dealing from a rigged deck.Apparently, Mara's defense ("Allegations are not convictions") is working. The league and the Giants have want this to be over and the media is happy to comply. I really, really, really really hope there is a video or photographic proof of the domestic abuse that will be released soon and this blows up in the NFL's face.
Which clip was that?
It was an ESPN sitdown with the commissioner show.I think it was Roy Firestone interviewing. I had the clip archived on my old XP computer but the HD STB.
The gist of the issue is this...Firestone said to Goodell "commissioner, as a lawyer, a member of the bar, what do you think blah blah bla blah....". Goodell sat there nodding his head in agreement. Goodell NEVER corrected the interviewer, he LET the interview go on under the guise that HE, Goodell, is a lawyer. He is not. He holds a GENERIC business degree from Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsyllvania. Call their records department. He had a C average over 4 years there. He CLAIMS he was a Magna Cum Laude. He's a bold faced LIAR. I called and GOT confirmation about 6 years ago. Goodell also was NEVER an intern for the NFL as he claims. Another lie. By NFL rules you cannot intern for the summer job he said he did, unless you are a college JUNIOR. Not even a senior. Goodell claims HE interned a summer a YEAR OUT OF COLLEGE. He lies and lies and lies and lies and lies and NO ONE ever calls him on it.
