From what I have read, Cannon is playing like he did last year. No reason to keep him around, especially if Waddle is playing well. I wonder if Flemming has a chance to beat out Cannon, if he can't beat him out, he might as well find a new career, real fast.

We it seems like we are settled on Thuney and Andrews for 2 interior spots. Maybe Stork can make a run but Andrews looks good and i just don't see it.

Solder-Thuney-Andrews-???-Vollmer

Cooper/Karras/Kline/Mason/Stork are probably all competing for the RG and backup spots. I Waddle looks ahead of Cannon which frankly should not be hard. Cannon has disappointed too much and should be gone this year. Cutting Cannon saves 3.2M and I would rather them due it now and use that money to sign another OT and see how he does.

If i had to guess right now i think it is Solder-Thuney-Andrews-Kline-Vollmer with Karras Mason Kline and Waddle as backups.

Cooper and Stork need to stay healthy or they won't make it. Thuney is emergence OT and We have enough options to play Guard if we need to move him. Also Kline and Mason can back up C IIRC.

Just a note about Thuney.

We have heard the truism that the best players tend to emerge early and that talent is apparent.

If this is true, then we have reason to feel really good about Thuney.

Gr8 pick BB!

You mentioned Kline twice. Did you mean to mention somebody else, and if so, as a starter or as a backup?

Oh yes i did. Well I guess i only see 8 OL men worth keeping.

Cannon - cut him
Cooper - get healthy or cut up
Stork - Should maybe retire. If he is good the rest of camp carry him i guess.

Jackson is PUP. So yeah only 8.

And Cooper is staying cause on money, so remove him as CUT and then look what you got...

So Garoppolo has beaten out Brady as starting QB?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

weeks 1-4? absolutely

doesn't take much intelligence to see this

no different from a forfeit

Disagree here. "Beating someone out" for a job in football means that you both show up on the field and one player outplays the other. You can't beat someone out who is injured. You can win the job against no competition, but you don't beat them out.

so there's no winner in a forfeit? interesting

Solder-Thuney-Andrews-Cooper*-Vollmer
Karras/Kline/Mason/Waddle

Cuts: Cannon, Stork.
PUP: Jackson

* If Cooper stays healthy; if not, he goes to IR and Karras starts, rest stays the same.

Off topic, but at one point the Pats had Vollmer, Solder, Matt Light and Mankins on the roster at the same time. Sounds like a dream team in retrospect.

…and Brian Waters, and Dan Connolly, and for one game Dan Koppen, and decent backups Wendell, Donald Thomas & Nick McDonald.

Agreed, but in that case I'm not worried about Fleming (or Cannon's) future careers, and more concerned that the team didn't make a more significant improvement to a position that was a season-breaking weakness on the back nine of 2015. Hopefully it doesn't come back to haunt them. Or maybe they can still find a legit backup swing tackle option out there as a camp cut or trade deadline deal, I dunno. If it's Solder & Vollmer and pray for bad paint on the fields so be it, if they're both healthy then that's great...but it's not the most logical or confidence-inspiring notion to assume that will hold up.

Half of the league struggling with OL ...
... so funnily enough there might even be some trade value within our OL and its no joke.
Bears losing C. Coming to joint practice. Might get interesting ... (I wonder if they have a T to spare?)

Bears adjust after losing center to season-ending injury
reading this our OL seam like - as some like to put it - the plethora of riches ...

BB has often not settled on his OL by game 4 of the preseason much less before game 1.
