I can't even believe you've talked yourself into believing what you just wrote.
It's the exact opposite. If I come here, the league pays Ian money. If I watch games, someone pays the league money. See the difference?
You are missing the point.
Let me break it down for you.
Fan-NFL-Product is the buying motion. Fan watches NFL. Fan sees add for beer. Fan buys beer.
Beer company pays network to post ad during NFL games because of audience. Network pays NFL $. If fans don't watch Beer co pays network less which in turn pays NFL less.
Poster- PatsFans.com- Pats Pro Shop. Poster sees ad for Brady jersey on Patsfans.com. Fan buys Brady jersey. Pats Pro Shop pays Andy $ to post ad here b/c of audience. If posters don't come here Pats Pro Shop doesn't pay Andy. In this model, Andy is both the NFL & the Network. He is the entertainment and the communication platform.
Fortunately, I don't answer to you, nor am I as misguided as you. I'll do it my own way, thank you.
Misguided? LOL. Go ahead and boycott the NFL at a way your are most comfortable. I could care less what the hell you do.
