If Christian McCaffrey isn't a future Patriot...

McCaffrey - the guy who I've been saying for 3 months should be the Heisman but instead they gave it to another SEC guy - will be drafted at least 25 spots ahead of where the Patriots pick.

I think the kid from navy should have won the heisman, mccaffrey is great, but he plays with a ton of future pros. The kid from navy plays with a bunch of future military guys. I hope bb drafts that kid because I think bb can make him special.

But again a lot can happen between now and April 2017 or April 2018 and with all the Stanford guys graduating to the pros this year, next is not going to be this rosy for mccaffrey.

Why not both? :)

Need to draft a DT if wanna win super bowl.

I like that Sterling Shepard from Oklahoma. I can see him in our system.

Same way I'd like to see Derrick Henry drafted by the Pats. But, he's this years Heisman Trophy winner, and although a bruising running back, he'll likely be way out of reach.

While the Tide is an absolute powerhouse who I believe will win next Monday night, I think you may be letting your bias get to you a bit.

In terms of RBs who are pro ready and offer versatility with great hands and pass protection, no one is going to be above Zeke Elliot from OSU. He's without a doubt the most physical blocker off the line, and has great hands, vision, strength, speed, etc. I definitely believe he'll go way before Derrick Henry, like 10+ spots.

Stanford -6 today was free money

I've been pissed all day that I didn't get it in time. You're right. It was easy money.

I wouldn't be surprised to see another pick or two in the trenches, considering that we normally go into the draft with very few real "needs." Most of the drafts are luxury situations where Belichick can not only choose the BPA, but also look towards the future.

OL/DT
RB
CB
WR

May as well continue to address these positions, as I don't believe that TE, QB, K, P, DE, LB, or S need much tweaking at the moment.

why? bill will find some guy off the street and plug him in. ( alan branch/hicks )

Hicks wasn't off the street, and this team does seem to need an anchor. They've got some big bodies, but nobody that's consistently stout against the run a la Washington/Wilfork/Seymour. They may be hoping that Brown becomes that guy, but he's not there yet.

1st round
2001 - Seymour - Super Bowl
2003 - warren - Super Bowl
2004 - wilfork - super bowl
2014 - Easley- super bowl
2015 - Brown - hmmmm

McCaffrey is just a monster.

Funny enough, I was watching the game with my dad, and before the game started, I was talking the kid up. First time he touches the ball, he takes it to the house.

Not only does he have a knack for the big play, but he gets the tough yards. He really does it all. Makes guys miss in the open field, runs routes like a WR. He can kill you in so many ways.

I wonder if NFL teams think he's big enough. That's my only concern regarding him, but I'd love to see him in a Pats uniform (doesnt look realistic right now) Ive heard people compare him to Reggie Bush, but i think McCaffrey is a better player.

Travesty he didnt win the Heisman.

No one will be drafted above Elliot.

That said, I'd love to see Alex Collins (Arkansas) in a Patriots uniform. I think he'd fit the offense well and there's a possibility you could get him day 3ish.

I like Collins a fair bit, reminds me of Ridley with his quick feet inside but his teammate Jonathan Williams, who hasn't played all year with an injury, might be challenging Elliot for best back in the draft moving forward. He might be where the real value lies. Both are decent possibilities though.

Then I'm not quite sure what anybody in college actually classes as one. He literally looks like the perfect Patriot and with actual pre draft talent and not someone that has to be 'unearthed as an overlooked gem'.

I cannot see one thing he does that the Patriots have not been doing on offense for a quite a while now. I hear he is not eligible this year but if he's not top of the Pats draft board in 2017 then it would be a crying shame. This is the back we've all wanted for a long, long time now.

I have Braxton Miller in that category for this year. Might depend on value though. 2nd round might be a little rich but he fits this offense really well, particularly in that trick play offense we used against the Jets. Can see him as a longer term LaFell replacement.

He reminds me of Ridley too, but he also has nice hands out of the backfield.

Problem with Collins are his fumbles. I believe it's sixteen over his career, including five this year.
