Dion Lewis anyone?

Other organizations would have pushed for White, Cadet to get playing time ahead of a player who has been cut by 3 other teams. BB evaluated based on performance and Lewis isn't just a bit player he's blossomed into an integral player in the lineup.
Never mind other organizations, there were people here who, even at the end of TC, were awaiting the
healthy return of Crapdet with baited breath.

What's great is that you can play Lewis and Blount at the same time. There is a need and role for both with Lewis being the "starter".

I agree. I would love to see both Blunt & Lewis in the backfield at the same time, especially in short-
yardage situations.

In short yardage I would like them hand off to Lewis instead of sideways Blount.

Lewis must have the worst agent in pro football. Still can not figure out why he signed that contract. Great for the Pats and Pats fans though. That TD on Sunday was unbelievable.

He keeps performing like this and he will get his mega contract in the future. As of right now BB gave him an opportunity to prove himself which is a win win situation for both parties.

Nice read on Dion here:
"Barry Sanders was the quickest I ever saw in terms of making a guy miss in a hole," Wannstedt said. "Dion isn't Barry Sanders, but he had some of that same make-a-guy-miss-in-a hole quickness. Plus he had 4.5 speed to outrun you. He could catch. He did things you can't coach."

Lewis was about more than just quick feet. Buddy Morris, the strength coach for Pitt at the time, gave his players a test that measured pound-for-pound strength. Morris said Lewis bench-pressed twice his body weight and squatted more than 500 pounds, making him the strongest pound-for-pound player on the team.
Where Did Dion Lewis Come From?

I read somewhere that he was in significant discomfort after the Indy game and that his injury was why he was used so sparingly in that game. Wonder what it is? A sports heria maybe? Hope he can rest up and be good to go this weekend. We are going to need him.

His injury is uncertain, but he was obviously a different player and used differently because of it. Interestingly, they preferred an injured Lewis to a healthy White, which does not say anything positive about the depth at RB. Not expecting a healthy Lewis Sunday, but hoping the injury is not some season-long thing.

Jesus if his injury is long-lasting that would really suck

Anyone think Lewis will play Thursday?

No and I do not have any information to make me say that.

What I do think is going on is that BB is trying to be very conservative with players that are dinged up and hope that his approach now will pay dividens at the end of the season

I don't think any of this week's inactives will play on Thursday.

Why not? They were on the verge of allowing him to play on Sunday...so much so that they had to re-draw their plays a couple of hours before kickoff

I know, I know. Typically when that happens could be that whatever meds they gave him to play didn't take.

His injury just might need time and rest.

I really don't get it. I'm not saying that Dion Lewis is Barry Sanders, but I'll say this: I have not seen anyone embarrass defenders with these kind of jukes since Barry Sanders. This guy is better than Kevin Faulk in his prime, in terms of just pure skill and talent. He has off the charts quickness and elusiveness. There really isn't much to analyze here; you watch the game, and if someone had told you this guy was the #3 overall pick in last year's draft, you don't even think twice about it. Is there really any sane argument that the scheme makes him good? Can't imagine he wouldn't thrive anywhere.

Even if I am exaggerating, and he's only half the player I'm hyping him up to be, HOW THE HECK WAS THIS GUY OVERLOOKED BY SO MANY TEAMS??? The Colts had a bunch of garbage RBs last year, cut him, and elected to go with a 33 year old. What?!

I am just shocked and amazed the Patriots were able to add a TOP SHELF running back to their already potent offense.

That wasn't a juke, he turned his head in that direction, and the defender lunged for it. Lewis is getting tremendous respect from defenders after half a season. If he stays healthy, I bet BB will give him some extra loot similar to the raise he gave Edelman.
