Post-Indy injury thread: State of the Team

Hope all these guys are alright but I don't like going into jersey with all these guys hurt.

I think Parcells' famous "bumps and bruises" quote (probably when he was with the Giants) was about an OT with a toe injury, specifically Jumbo Elliott.

I'm guessing Cannon misses games, but not very many.

Lot of uncalled cheap shots taken at Pats players in this game. I wish nothing but the WORST on that fetid ,rotten ,drug addict ridden abomination of a team.It starts with the owner and goes all the way down to the lowest form of slugs on this planet, the Doyels and Krudvitzs of their yellow journalistic media

You need to get more upfront with your feelings man, say what you really mean...

Unfortunately, the NFL season is a war of attrition.. and it hits every team, we were fairly healthy up to the last 7 days..

Only major injuries to watch are cannon and sheard. While Slater is a beast, we did fine on ST when he went out few years ago. Edelman will be fine.
Slater is better now than then.

No question they babied Lewis last night.

Yeah, I was thinking they just kept him active for this game so the Colts would have to game plan for him. They you have to play him a little to prevent the League mafia enforcers from making another *#*gate out of it.

It'll be good to get LaFell back this week. The WRs haven't quite made Dallas and Indy pay for devoting so much attention to Gronk. Relatively speaking, of course, considering that the Pats scored 32 ppg and left a few other opportunities on the table.

The game on Sunday is in Foxboro. But, I am concerned about the injuries whether the game is at home or away.

Sheard is the most concerning one. Ankle injuries are hampering, especially for pass rushers. He may be able to go next week but he may not be completely right until later in the year. Slater looks done, unfortunately.

Yes yesterday was a tough game, the pick 6 from my point of view was not related to the finger, the ball bobbled in Edelman's left hand and the broken finger is in his right hand. Anyway he dropped a few balls and was playing like at 75%. He also took a hit in the head in the TD play.

Gronk in that play in the middle of the field dive in the defender with his helmet, it was a strong helmet to helmet hit. I think he's got 2 hits in the head yesterday.

Then you have Sheard, Cannon and Slater. And Hightower.

I understand the next game is crucial, but it's going to be more physical than against the Colts, I wouldn't mind going with a conservative approach here, the injuries are in place and BB needs to figure out some damage control, because the depth on CB and OLine are on it's limits. If Edelman needs to sit I'm ok, gameplan for Dobson, Martin and the TE's and deal with it. Needs to fix that finger because a broken finger in a crucial play could be the difference between a W and L. Hightower too, ribs are no joke.

Lafell should be back this week.

rashann melvin is pretty good in the slater role on special teams

as for sheard, I hope he's fine, but I would like to see Trey Flowers
as for Edelman, good thing we have Lafell coming back

Fleming is a solid backup

Slaters did not look good at all hased on how much pain he was in. Shread..idk. Like the W. Hate the losses

Lets hope Lafell gets a good week of practice in to get his timing back with Brady. I just don't think Jets can keep up with Pats Offense if they are in sync.

Patricia needs to have his D get after Fitzy and stop Ivory from having a Gore like afternoon....Jets have a couple of decent recievers and I sure as heck don't trust Ryan to stick with his man deep.....

Slater was already limping earlier in the game and stayed in. Hopefully just a sprain or strain.
Whenever you hear that other players were coming over to the guy who got hurt it's usually not good though..

I know, but when was the last time a player with a season ending injury is standing by himself just a few minutes later?

Are we getting him back this week? Im assuming he is now available to play if he's ready. Would certainly be a helpful addition.
