NFL's mouthpiece (ESPN) at it again with OTL piece on cameragate

When the banner drops thursday, the Pats really need to play this.

Somebody turn of Felger's microphone already.

Felger blaming the Pats for the ESPN story - "the Patriots started this with their outing of numerous league officials"....wow...in his mind, it's "only" the NFL firing back at the Patriots

I do think that he's right in that regard though - this is the league's formal response to the wellsreportincontext website. They're peeved at that, and now that they lost the Brady case and the overall narrative, this is their form of revenge and regaining control.

He's wrong in that the Pats didn't bring this upon themselves though. The childish league did. In some ways this is making me feel a bit for the situation Goodell is in, dealing with all of these spoiled children. Problem is that he's too stupid/arrogant/childish himself to know how to properly deal with it.

The problem is that if Kraft WERE to do that, he could lose the team. He could be forced to sell much like the Clippers owner was forced to sell in the NBA.

So, what would you have him do? Please expound for everyone..

How does he lose the team by defending the wall against espn & Si, which is what I said explicitly?

Here's a clue, espn & SI are not the NFL and are not NFL employees.

PS: In case my details are in one of many other threads, Kraft should issue a detailed point by point rebuttal, not just one pathetic issue. Then challenge espn, SI, etc. AND the whiney owners, GMs, whoever to come forward IN PUBLIC with the detailed proof of their accusations.

Since when does the city of Boston represent New England?

Did I miss something?

If I live in Western mass or New Hampshire or the Cape i'm a "Bostonian" because I root for the Pats?

Because, to defend the team, he has to say things the league could feel are detrimental, particularly to the league. Pretty sure that is covered under the owner clause as a "No No"..

What "numerous league officials" did the Patriots out??

According to Felger: Nash, Pash, Gardi, and a few others. Seriously, he is spinning it like the Patriots have fought tooth and nail throughout this entire ordeal (except of course, the draft picks and fines).

Greg Bedard then blames Belichick and the Patriots for lack of transparency, opining that everything would be hunky dory if he/they had come clean years ago...

So, let me get this straight.. Because the NFL took Brady to court in an effort to make sure the penalty stuck for something that Brady didn't actually do, it's the Patriots fault that the league's incompetence was put on display?

Felger and Bedard...yup not listening to that garbage.

Same here. Been to every major city many times for business all over North America. We have a stigma and we win. And many are tired of it.
Boston is not the friendliest city.
It is strange that 2 "Massholes" could have such dramatically different perspectives on entire populations. I traveled domestically for more than 6 years, spending weeks at a time in almost every major city. With just a few exceptions, the vast majority of my interactions with the "locals" were positive, and I have made several life long friends in my travels.

Whether I am just less sensitive to others' prejudice, or simply rarely actually experienced said prejudice is up for debate. Considering how much time when traveling that I've spent discussing the similarities and differences of populations and cities with the locals, makes the former seem very unlikely.

I thought Goodell wanted to "keep the focus on football", hence his reasoning for not coming to Foxboro? These two planted stories, published 2 days before the patriots raise their 4th SB banner do a good job of keeping the focus on football...f#cking fraud

.

I have done the same. I am not seeing the difference other than seeing that Boston tends to be singled out as a place that has its stigmas etc. Most people I talk to and would care to engage in a convo think Boston is great.

Only in Bizzaro world does taking the position that rumormongers identify themselves and back up their claims with evidence constitute detrimental conduct.
So all the unidentified innuendo is helpful to the league, not detrimental yet rebuttal costs you a franchise by your strange "reasoning".

Again, if you don't think this is personal, this should convince you. This is all about bringing the Pats down. They tried to do it with deflategate and when that did not work, they pulled this out of their assses. Really, if Kraft does not do something to defend his brand, I don't know what to say.

People often don't have much to say after you're run them over. Don't think that "not friendly" is much of a factor here.
We socialize a little different in Boston. Our busy lifestyle tends to make us less open to social interaction with strangers. We also tend to have a thick skin and a quick, biting wit. It is these things that make us seem less friendly to residents of many other cities. Try going to places like Portland OR, Madison WI or Pensacola FL. The vast majority of people are very friendly, and strangers are much more likely to make eye contact. Cities like Boston, NYC and Chicago seem cold by comparison.

Felger and Bedard...yup not listening to that garbage.

Now I can't decide whether Bedard never that great to begin with, or if he has just gone downhill since he skipped town.

I feel stupid. I thought the season would go ahead... and then two planted stories at the eve of a SB raising ceremony. I should have known better. The League Office hates BB even more than I had ever imagined.

So, let me get this straight.. Because the NFL took Brady to court in an effort to make sure the penalty stuck for something that Brady didn't actually do, it's the Patriots fault that the league's incompetence was put on display?

Honestly it is not worth valuable brain cells trying to rationalize those two and Bedard ;)
