CORRECTION: brady willing to accept 1 game for failure to cooperate is UNTRUE

Everyone outside of New England thinks he is guilty anyway. Do you think Berman overturning Brady's suspension on procedural grounds will change that? If so, you are sorely mistaken. Also, I would definitely not want you advising any of my clients.

Well, you're the lawyer reacting to league sources.

Dunno if this has been posted already, but according to Breer the one game offer was not made:

Per source, no material terms were offered during Tuesday's settlement talks on Brady. Parties still stuck on facts (re: guilt) of the case.

I'm thinking this was yet another false leak by the NFL to make Brady look guilty.

Just consider what "league sources" have said throughout. I think the NFL, at this point, is smart enough to send Mike Kensil or whoever to Schefter/Florio to leak what they want leaked, since they aren't 'tainted' like Mortensen for example.

But this is nothing more than leaking "destroyed phone" to Stephen A, leaking that the "NFLPA is willing to settle" before Goodell's decision and afterward. "The NFLPA wanted the appeal hearing sealed"

Etc, etc, etc.

andrew brandt basically saying that berman kept grilling nash.

Actually I am not. I am just presenting my opinion based on what has been put there. i.e. I don't think accepting 1 game with no admission of guilt is an implicit admission, and perhaps his legal team think that it is an acceptable resolution rather than rolling the dice on Berman issuing a decision.

Ahh, now we've moved to ad hominem attacks. Very mature.

Oh, you're opposed to ad hominem attacks, eh? Well, let's see...

ad hominem: directed against a person rather than the position they are maintaining

OK, let's see the remark of yours I was responding to:

Gee, that sounds like an ad hominem attack. Whaddya know. So would you like to apologize now?

Curran has a update about Kesslers arguments today.

NEW YORK -- Judge Richard Berman seemed to commiserate with NFLPA attorney Jeffrey Kessler during final oral arguments, which are being presented this morning at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse.

During Kessler's hour-long summation of points where the NFL went astray in investigating and suspending Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, the topic of "general awareness" surfaced again

As Kessler stated that, "Player policies say you can't be punished for being 'generally aware,' " Berman nodded vigorously. Berman then asked, "Can Mr. Brady be fined under the equipment policy?"

Perhaps........course you are....you're a smart guy. I don't doubt your opinion....just where you're giving it.

I was responding to how staunch you are on your opinion without any background in law or legal proceedings. A judge would not look kindly on Brady refusing to give anything, and his attorneys are trying to do the best for him.

Curran's update actually sounds encouraging. Sounds like Berman is agreeing a lot more with Kessler than with Nash.

NFL attorney Daniel Nash followed Kessler at the podium, and while Berman said he could take just as long as Kessler, Nash said he likely wouldn't need it because this is not the time to fight the details.

Nash alleged that Kessler's final argument proves the NFL's point, that the NFLPA is trying to re-open the investigation with Berman as the arbitrator.

The NFL desperately wants this argument to work, because I think they sense that if they lose here it's their best shot at winning on appeal. But it's simply not true. If the facts of the case show that Goodell acted with clear, evident bias, then that is not the same as retrying the case.

Should make for an interesting appeal, at least, if it ever gets to that point (which, to be clear, I really realy hope it does).

It's a pretty sucky situation Brady is in right now. I agree with the sentiment that he is currently being railroaded by the NFL. But I also think Brady, being the competitor he is, desperately wants to get out on the field as quickly as possible, and has been counseled about the uncertainty of letting this go to a decision. I don't understand how Patriots fans can convict him for (potentially) accepting a settlement where he sits one game for lack of cooperation. He would only accept it if he thought it was the best outcome. That does not mean he is professing his guilty, and if you guys believe that, it is only your opinion.

I've gotta like this...but with a high degree of caution.

Don't even waste your time liking it. Just another twitter troll, changing his story as it gets proven false to try to hang onto some shred of credibility that he never should've had in the first place.

Whatever. You took a shot at me--I don't mind that, but then don't get all high and mighty about ad hominem attacks. And you don't need a "background in law" to have an opinion about what kind of deal you would want to take, or not take.
