PFT rips Wells Report PSI Readings

But, but, but.........

The colts' balls ! THE COLTS BaLLS ! They make all the difference ! Because Anderson checks every ball and uses a gauge and has never ever lost track of balls !!!!!!!

It's hilarious how they take Walt Anderson's word as a fact when he says what the ball pressures were, yet he can't remember which gauge he used or if he properly initialed a kicking ball.

Just the fact that nobody really cared about the accuracy of the gauges (a bent indicator arrow? seriously?) shows just how insignificant this rule is to the actual game of football. How this became a "thing" is mind boggling. The incompetence of Roger Goodell is truly breathtaking; he created this monster, nurtured it and in the process has very likely permanently tarnished the reputation of one of the greatest and most respected players in the history of the game. Worse yet, he isn't finished; I'm quite confident that his bumbling will continue and he'll make matters even worse.
Nothing happened, no one had an advantage, no one tampered with the balls, it's abundantly clear from the report.

I agree that this is all much ado about nothing. But what is the explanation for McNally's trip with the balls into the bathroom? Just an unfortunate coincidence? And why didn't the Patriots make McNally available for follow-up with league investigators? A sudden concern for the schedule of a low-level part time employee that did not exist during any of his 4 previous interviews?

He also couldn't remember if he signed one of K balls either.

Ya but we are just gonna take his word that all the Colts balls were exactly 13 and then somehow the refs were able to measure all of the Pats balls but somehow only managed to measure 4 Colts balls which 3 of them were under 12.5. What happened? NFL didn't like what the pressures were on the other 8 Colts balls.

How about the Colts balls which got to sit in room temperature and get some pressure back while the Pats balls were being gauged?

Then you got Wells saying the texts are serious and proof yet Jastremski says that the balls during the jests game were closer to 16 when they should have been 13 and that is just completely ignored.

Such a sham.

Lets not forget he couldn't remember if he tested the Pats or Colts balls first, but he knows the pressure of each

This is exactly what coldhardfootballfacts.com came up with as a question.

ProFootballTalk is even mentioned in the report so they get free advertising from all this.

Brady's lawyers are literally going to have a field day ripping the Wells Report apart word by word. No way the league will get away with docking him millions of dollars and trashing his reputation based upon that piece of garbage. A really bad lawyer could destroy this report, I can't imagine what a David Boies or Ted Olsen could do to it, and that is really the level of lawyer Brady should hire, one that carries the same kind of gravitas Wells does.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, I will break out the popcorn for that, I want Ted Wells reputation left in pieces in the gutter.

Hell, I could have a field day ripping this report and I've never opened a law book.

Imagine what this guy could do

It is possible that McNally had to relieve himself.

There comes a time when you have to stop making witnesses available, or there could have been 300 interviews. The fact that Patriots' counsel made him available 4 times indicates an extraordinary degree of cooperation.

I find PFT to be one of the most schizophrenic online publications. In one post they rip the patriots as cheaters and in the next they're saying the data is inconclusive and possibly even skews towards the patriots NOT being cheaters. I admit I give them a lot of clicks but seriously it's getting annoying.

I never click their articles but it's probably different authors.

I've also noticed exactly what you're saying but only though twitter headlines. Literally every other Patriot's article alternates between pro and anti.

Given the wacky gauges, it would be impossible for the balls to start at 12.5 PSI, as the report claims.

The Wells report is so weak even this guy could rip it apart

That's the other thing, we have no starting point.

- The gauges are off by ~1/3 PSI.
- They don't know which gauge was used.
- The pregame PSI weren't recorded.

He also suggest that Blakeman and Prioleau switch gauges during testing, I just want to know if they said they switched gauges. They should be able to remember that, it's a pretty significant detail.

That'd be true if people actually read the report.

It may not do that much damage but they can certainly take a big chunk out of his reputation. I want Brady's counsel to do to Wells what he has done to Brady, and hopefully you will be right and they will crush him.
