I will be honest. I am not as high on this pick as some people. I wasn't really for taking a DT in the first round this draft. I liked some guys okay (Brown, Goldman, Grady, Hardison) but all thought they were pretty close and thought the better move would be take the last one that is left.
I do think Brown was probably the best of the bunch though I don't see perennial pro bowl upside here the way i do with a few other options. However he is NFL ready and can come in day 1 and start unlike some other guys. Probably one of the safest prospects in the draft at this point which good.
Maybe he will prove me wrong and exceed my expectations and be something really special. I hope he does. He is only 20 and had by far his best year last year. Maybe his ceiling will prove higher than i think. Would not be the first time I am wrong nor the last.
Overall though you address a need and got what is likely the best player you could hope to get for it. Overall a success I'd say.
Now for CB in round 2 I hope.
