Let's just pretend that it was the Pats with the ball at the 1 yard line with 26 seconds left and it's Tom that throws the game ending pick. I would fully expect people from the "experts" to the fans to question Bill but would the Patriots players act as mutinous as the Seahawks have been by calling Bill out?

Now before we get the "Bill would never call such a stupid play" crowd all I'm saying is just pretend he did so we can get opinions on how the Pats players react.

Bill just dosnt have it anymore Mike! Brady isn't as good as he used to be Mike!

Pats pass from the 1 and 2 yard line all the time. I wouldn't be surprised if they pass more often than they run at that range.

I don't think players would be calling Bill out; but if it happened in 2003 where Bill only had 1 championship, or if it happened in 2001 he'd likely have players calling him out.

Ex players were calling him out after the 4th & 2 in Indy; so I'm sure if something similar happened players would be talking about themselves, just not in public

If it happened to us it would be Josh McDaniels being run out of town and Brady would be taken to the woodshed as well. That being said, I don't see either of them throwing that particular pass on that play. We'd throw it to the outside or in the back of the endzone, like we did several times from short yards out even in the Super Bowl itself.

Edit - and none of the players would say anything publically, except Brady, who would say it was all his fault for making a bad throw.

Here's a better idea: let's pretend we get another blizzard and power is out for two weeks, during which the stock market crashes, everyone loses their job and gasoline goes to $10 a gallon.

I'm not talking about ex players though. I mean does his starters call him out for that play if it was this team? IMO no they wouldn't and for Seattle players to do so shows the level of maturity and cohesiveness within the team.

As long as he is not starting a "Should we consider signing Hernandez if he gets off" threads I am good with all of that.

I believe we've already had that masterpiece here in the last few weeks...

Yes, he started it along with a couple other gems that were pure ****.

They don't.

Over the last two seasons, according to PFR, inside the 2—20 pass (9 TD, 1 fumble, 1 sack), 34 rush (16 TD, 1 fumble).

Why in the hell would we want to pretend this?

Tom doesn't throw the game ending pick, cuz he's TFB and I'll tell you why: "good" QBs like Peyton or Russell Wilson are very accurate and can put where is easy for a reciever to catch it. A lot of times, throwing the ball to a reciever in stride doesn't take into account defenders. This is why Peyton's recievers are regularly concussed and Wilson throws SB ending picks. All Wilson did was put it in stride for the reciever, and Butler picked it. A "great" qb like TFB takes into account defenders and adjusts the throw to direct the reciever away from defender's. Tom would have put it on the back shoulder to block out the defender.... at worst, it's incomplete or DPI. We've been seeing it to Gronk all season long.

This is why Brady's td, yards and completion % will always be a tick under what they would be if he aired it out recklessly like so many other qbs.

Ugh I think most have missed the point here. Only 2 people (patsdeb and voluntarysafety) seemed to understand the concept that this wasn't about Tom throwing a terrible sb ending pick but the point was how would the players react to the coaching staff if it did happen. I don't know how more explicit I can be.

Friend, why spend time indulging your imagination with such negativity? Really. Try thinking happier thoughts. Speculating how someone might react to sadness and disaster only makes the wintry shroud outside my office window all the gloomier. We WON the Super Bowl! Let's focus on THAT!

Outside my window it's clear skies and sunshine so a touch of gloom isn't the worst thing in the world

That is, without question, one of the stupidest posts I have seen since I first started using the Internet.
