I don't get this trade for either team. The Seahawks gave up a lot to get this guy and now they are dumping him for pennies on the dollar. He must be a serious locker room cancer if he can't get along with Pete Carroll. Carroll had problems here but that was because he was a horrible coach at the time but all the players liked him. They gave up a first, seventh, and a third plus guaranteed him over $25 million (which they eat most of that). That is a lot for one great game in the Super Bowl and not much else.
For the Jets, their season is over in October. They don't have much talent. Harvin can't stay on the field and even when he is he is more potential than production. He is going to eat about $6-7 million of their cap money this year in a year they are playing for nothing. He has a high cap number every year going forward. They could lose cap space and a third or fourth for a half the year rental in a season that they have next to no chance to go the playoffs. And if he is the head case that he is rumored to be, he is just going to add to the circus in NY. Looks like Idzik is making a move to show Woody Johnson that there was a reason he held onto that cap space.
I think this could be a lose/lose for both teams. I would say the Seahawks already lost the trade with Minnesota.
