Jerod Mayo suffers knee injury

I am hoping Ridley is an MCL. Would be oe out for a while but not necessarily season ending (unless he needs a roster spot). Hoping for the best here.
EDIT:

Patriots RB Stevan Ridley will have an MRI tomorrow. It's a knee injury. Fear is that he tore his ACL.

I think a brace would be mcl and sleeve for acl. Sleeve to keep the swelling down and the brace for the mcl. Just speculation.

Nvm saw the brace. They are both done. Sucks big time

I highly disagree, this is exactly what I thought as well. If it's an ACL tear, I also believe this was last game as a Patriot. He is injured just about every year, in fact I can't remember him going more that 1 year without a major injury...He is paid very well and the injuries are adding up. I really hope I am wrong on this.
You can disagree all you want. Doesn't make you correct...In fact, You must be thinking about a different Jerod Mayo because it's only been the last 2 years where Mayo has lost any significant time.. Prior to last year's pectoral muscle tear, Mayo had missed all of 4 games in total..

This idea that he's injured every year is fictitious BS.

Vereen will not be able to carry Ridley's load. That would be a huge loss.

Mayo injury is huge as well.

Looks like our bad luck in regards to injuries will haunt us again this season.

Bolden, white and gray are gonna have to carry Ridleys load. Especially when Ridley was looking good

Time for the rooky running back to step up.

Didn't he have a somewhat serious shoulder injury his rookie year. He sprained his MCL his second year and was never the same the rest of the year. Sprained his shoulder and missed 2 games in 2011, had his worst year as a pro. Ripped his pectoral muscle and missed 10 games last year, and if this is a torn ACL, that is one injury prone linebacker...

Now I do think this is the last we will see of Ridley as a Patriot.

It's possible, but my guess would be no. Mayo's too good, and his injuries haven't been chronic/wear-and-tear in nature. With the cap rapidly rising over the next few years, I think they would look at other players to free up cap space before they'd look to Mayo. ANd since any McCourty/Revis extension can be pretty backloaded, I think that the cap space that they get from trading Mankins/getting Hernandez off the books might be enough to accomodate both of them.
All very good points, BTW. Thanks for bringing the different angle.

Probably true, I believe he is a free agent after this year, so even without the injury he probably wasn't coming back.

Technically Mayo does tend to get nicked up every year, but that's life as an NFL MLB. They all play through injuries until they get one they can't play through, and Mayo is no exception.

Part of why I really hated going into the season with so little overall LB depth.

Man, that really sucks for Ridley. Terrible timing to tear your ACL in your last year before FA. Could cost him millions.

We'll just have to see. Looks bad though. If anything though our D held up alright after losing him even though Chandler had a great day.

The Bills didn't test the Patriots up the middle much after Mayo got hurt. They ran straight up the middle and passed to the perimeter.

patella is season ending too. Our only hope is its just an MCL or LCL and he is back in 6-8 weeks in time for a playoff run.

Yup, something mirroring his 2009 injury is best-case at this point, although that would make it kind of a bummer that the in-season IR was used on Siliga.

I guess a small silver lining is James White looked better at the end of the KC "game". Those violent cuts he showed in College looked like they were back.

Feel bad for the Riddler, guy was destroyed on the sidelines.

looks like we are screwed then.. makes putting Buchanon on IR even worse now.. not sure who is out there that we could sign..

He played every game his first year. Missed 3 games his second year. Then missed 2 games in his fourth year. You make his career sound much worse than it has been.

They tried, but they didn't really have the blocking to get anywhere. I actually thought it was weird that the Bills were running between the tackles so much. Makes sense in principle with mayo and Hightower out, but wasn't really working.
