Michael Vick signing with Jets

Vick, if he gets the starting job, as he should (surely you watched Geno play last season), will inherit last years 6th rank rushing attacking and I only said *IF* they get DJax AND draft Ebron or someone similar.

If the latter 2 don't happen the Jets will be just as big of a joke as they are now, except they'll have another QB controversy.

Two of those things have not happened yet and are both probably long shots to happen.

I tell you what: Joe Benigno's monday morning shows on WFAN ought to be a hoot to listen to. Probably approaching epic if Vick reverts to form and Geno goes all Diva :rocker:

Vick will get hurt for at LEAST 6-8+ games this year like every year..so that's 6+ starts for geno. This is going to be awesome

Yeah, my original post on the subject in this thread stated that same thing. I never once said they'll finish top 10-15.

If they get DJax and draft someone like Ebron they can certainly have a top 15, maybe top 10 offense as long as Vick stays healthy (basically for about 8 games).

The Jets were smart enough to sign Michael Vick but are they smart enough to start him? Time will tell.

Jets and smart..together?

Born to be a Jet.

I would assume DJax winds up a Jet as well. For all the Jet's fans complaining, I think they can't complain about what the brain trust(oxymoron ?) is trying to do with the offense. Vick, DJax and Decker is a good start for an offense that had 0 weapons. Of course I'm hoping DJax comes to us instead, but they have TONS of cap space and unfortunately we don't.

The most over rated QB ends up playing for the jets. Awesome.:D

Such great news perhaps fireman Ed will return to be the announcer for this 3-ring circus.

What a fantastic way to set their future back a few years.

I derive much pleasure from the fact that the Jets cannot save themselves from being the Jets.

Vick needs an otherworldly Offensive Line to be effective. This is something the Jets do not have. Therefore, signing Michael Vick makes perfect sense.

How much can Vick have left? Without his legs, he is a mediocre QB at best and he is turning 34 in June.

Funny, the Jets fans were making fun of the Pats for taking Browner because of his problems with the substance abuse policy and their team turns around and brings in a dog killer.

I'll take those Vegas odds

I hate Vick, over the dogs thing. So now, even though I lived in NYC for 15 years, I finally also hate the Jets.

OT: Vick signing with Jets

If the Pats ever signed him, I'd root for someone else. Not kidding.

I'm with you but I would not worry about that. Hernandez was at least a good football player.

Vick had one good season which coincidently coincided with him being in bankruptcy and needing a payday. He is one of the worst things the NFL has ever seen, selfish, arrogant, and unaccountable for any of his actions.

Well, Vick is certainly better than Geno, but does this mean that they're giving up on Geno? Interesting.

Maybe his job is to motivate Geno, i doubt Vick can last a whole season.Injury is one of the reasons he lost his job to Fole.

If Geno is supposed to be the future in New York, I don’t really understand what the Jets are doing.

 :rocker:

wait...does this signing signal "win now!" mode in Jetland?

or is it just as everyone has said the last 45 years..

Same.Old.Jets.

All this does is hold the Jets down from evolving as a team in the long term so I love the fact that Vick could end up there. An inconsistent QB who gets hurt all of the time, who doesn't process the field that well, and will probably take Geno's spot hurting his confidence a little just spells problems and inconsistencies for the Jets. For Pats fans this is good news in my opinion.

pretty good news for the back page of the NY Post and the Daily News too...
