Jim Irsay arrested for DUI, possession of controlled substance

Yup. A child of a Rat is what? A Rat. Baltimore was forever changed by those people. And not in a good way.

Not just that. Even if that child's parents were great people, he/she is still an empty vessel if they don't do anything on their own and merely fly on the coattails of the parents.

He's a Trust Fund Baby, just like the Jets owner.

I am not celebrating this news at all. It is tragic. Very simply, I am just not impressed with this person.

And then "the people" of Baltimore did the exact same thing to Cleveland that Indianapolis and did to them. So please forgive me for not playing my violin at the above post.

True, but that's why I'll forever hate (among other reasons) both the Colts & the Ravens.

....and that exhonerates the Irsay family how?

Addiction is sad - and this just goes to show that it doesn't matter how much money you have - the drugs don't care.

I'm assuming its prescription drugs per Kravitz (noting Irsay has back and hip issues)

This also explains some of his bizarre tweet banter

Though I still can't stand Irsay for issuing a press release everything he donates $10k to some cause. The guy owns the original "On the Road" manuscript that's worth $3 million

And as a billionare $10k is like $1.75 to you and me.

I've given far more than $1.75 to good causes and have NEVER issued a press release.

Heck - his PR hack (who didn't have the balls to tell Irsay it's a bad idea to congratulate himself for a $1.75-esque donation) probably gets 10x the amount of his donation.

If he really cared about charity he'd dump his personal PR team and put the salary savings towards charity. So many people "give" for the right reasons - to help. Irsay gives to get good press. That really rubs me the wrong way.

I am not trying to exonerate the Irsay family - primarily because I don't think they need any exoneration from the "sin" of actually moving their business to a more financially friendly location. Business do that sort of thing all the time, and the NFL (and the individual franchises) are a business. I just think it is silly to say "Baltimore was forever changed by those people".

This wasn't some major traumatic experience from which can never be recovered. No one died. Baltimore went a little over a decade without an NFL team. That's what we call a 1st World Problem.

I guess there's only one Luck on his team.

Where's that Colts fan troll when we need him?

This is nothing but sad. Substance addiction is a disease transcending affluence or social status. Hopefully, Irsay gets the help he needs.

Unfortunately america doesn't care about helping those with substance abuse..the amount of addicts in this country and the # who have access to help programs is amazing...sad

Yeah I was thinking Jenkem too.

I had to google that, and supposedly it's formed from "fermented human waste."

So in other words, he was full of sh**?

In a twisted way, Jim Irsay's friends have been praying for this day. They've been praying for the day when he'd reach rock bottom and be forced to come to terms with a drug problem that he's battled for some time.

"He's a sick, sick man," one source told me. "He desperately needs help."
Kravitz: Jim Irsay fighting for his life, needs help

Seems like he's been in a downward spiral..

Addicts need help. People who get high and put innocent fellow-citizens at risk by getting behind the wheel of a car deserve condemnation, in my opinion. However stoned you are, you have no right to be that irresponsible.

There is truth in what you say, but any addict will tell you that when using they have zero self-control. Irsay crossed over by taking that first pill.

I guess I may be a bit extreme on this (I once knew someone who lost a close relation to a drunk/stoned driver).

The driving under the influence thing is what upsets me the most. If it was just illegal possession of prescription drugs, then I would say give him a slap on the wrist and some mandatory counseling.... but I can't get past putting innocent lives in danger.
