Nope, sounds like he is just reporting something said by Revis's agent to escalate the bidding war.

Why would they tell other teams that Revis is signing with the Pats as a move to create a bidding war? That would backfire in their face. If the word is he is going to sign with the Pats even before he is officially able to take offers, why would teams make offers?

My guess is the bidding war went on for the last few days (illegally of course) and he is close to a decision.

I believe the events of the past 24 hours have made signing Revis a necessity that even Belichick recognizes. I believe it will happen and happen soon.

They don't feel like the Pats need to spend that much money on one player. He's a top 20 CB of all-time and deserves to be paid like one. Whether or not people feel like the Pats are that team to do so is up for debate.

It's based on the fact that our #1 conference rival just got a helluva lot stronger in the past 24 hours and Revis is the best free agent out there.

I'd be excited if we signed Revis, but it is kinda sad how we have to sign Revis in order to just keep our heads above water.

Agreed. Revis is easily the best corner in the NFL since Deion was in his prime. Revis isn't afraid to tackle people, either.
