JETS fan punches woman in the face

I saw that poor woman as I was exiting the stadium thru that section after some 20 odd minutes after the event. Blood was still streaming from her nose as she tried to stop it. She was attended to by the medical staff and there were not that many cops.

Honestly, I am actually surprised that these fightings are not more frequent considering the hatred that fans nowadays have for their rivals. I was in section 200 and the way the fans went bersek thumping the chair in front of them made me think that things can go out of control on any lame incident/insult, whether real or perceived. The taunting after the game at anyone wearing a Pats jersey (there were quite a few btw) reaffirmed my decision not to openly wear any Pats gear in the Jets stadium.

and btw, during the game, the Jets telecast on the giant screens on the field videos of Jets fans around the stadium to motivate the fans. Which is quite fine. But when many of those professional videos constantly show fans wearing T-shirts that say 'Tom Brady Sucks', you can't help but feel sad of the level to which this disdain has slipped to and how the organization seems to have no problem telecasting such characters.

Didn't even floor her, wow. Not trying to downplay the cowardice of hitting a female, but he should be ashamed for more reasons than one lol

It's a nasty culture down there bred from decades of futility. My last Pats-Green Scum game in New Giants Stadium was three years ago. For the entire game I was pelted from behind by some azzhole throwing peanuts. Security is very weak in that place. Wrecks' defiant bravado only adds fuel to the fire.

As we've all been told women are equally as strong as men therefore they are equally at fault.

Kidding, what the heck is wrong with people.

I'm not so sure about that. I've never seen a guy throw his fist into a woman's face at Gillette. Jets fans are well known for abusing women (re., the infamous Gate 4 gauntlet).
I'm hope not, but I bet most Jet fans don't support this type of behavior either (assuming they haven't devolved into a cesspool of humanity).

As for this guy (specifically), I'm sure the police will get his identity pretty quickly and he'll get his due. He needs some cooling off time in prison to get a better understanding of the where his life is at. I hope that woman is well ad decides to press charges.

Football is a part of my life (just ask my wife). But, nothing win/lose makes me lose my moral ground. I don't personally win when they win, but do feel a sense of satisfaction. but, it never (well rarely) extends to making other people/fans suffer for their choice (which team they support). This guy obviously feels otherwise.

What stood out to me is that fans of his own kind didn't deck him. If that were a male Pats fan doing that to a female Jets fan, I would be all over the guy. I guess that's par for the course in the scumbag region they call New Jersey, though.

That's one leap of faith I wouldn't be willing to take.

I hear you, but the puncher is going to go to jail - - it's there on video - - he has no chance. Anyone else throwing down would (even if it were justifiable) would be in some hot water. better to just get it all on video and call security. And if security isn't around, the video will make for a nice cash settlement threat to Woody Johnson.

I remember reading that Kraft has cameras all over Gillette to watch this kind of thing and get security over quickly. And there is a no-second chance policy at Gillette.

Gillette Stadium, no. Foxboro Stadium? Yes.

What a moronic smear on those of living in NJ based on your bigoted views of some Jets football fans.

Worse is you think fans like you are angels residing in whatever frigging state that you live in.

Newsflash: There are always going to be thugs and despicable 'fans' in every single fanbase across the world.

Individuals like you mudslinging and smearing an entire fanbase and regions are the primary reason for such spiteful rivalry.

Grow up!

More than anything, these people's choices in jerseys show how dumb they are. Chrebet, Pennington, and Tomlinson, really?

Go buy some Wilkerson, Cromartie, and Mangold jerseys, people. Even Coples would be better.

There is some comedic gold in those comments though:

"Fan in Chrebet Jersey: [punches woman]
Wayne Chrebet: [Gets placed on IR] "

"This bro's friend in the Chad Pennington jersey was only able to connect on three short punches, the fourth caused his shoulder to dislocate."

LOL

Embarrassing.

The team either supports or accepts this type of behavior. The fans clearly do. You see a group of Jets fans surrounding the big idiot who assaulted the woman. None of them step in. Good for them. They sure showed that female Pats fan who's who. Maybe they can head over to the handicapped exit for some more fun.

No obvious security.

As an organization you make a statement with behavior like this. Where do you stand. The fans will behave as the organization accepts, or directs.

We can argue about the noise at Gillette these days, but fights are not permitted.

The gal who got decked has more cajones that you.

I dont care if its the black hole in Oakland, I am wearing Pats stuff.

I agree with those criticizing this guy, but if we're talking class, the woman who got hit doesn't exactly personify it, either.

Men shouldn't hit women. And women shouldn't hit, or push, men. In this case I think she got enough punishment, but if she hadn't been punched and a policeman had been there, I'd want her arrested as well.

(btw, as somebody else pointed out, that was a horrible punch he threw. He punched like NBA players do. I'm glad that was the case, though.)

Someone who was there posted that he dislocated his shoulder on one of those punches.

Its unfortunate that this stuff happens but it happens at all stadiums. When you have 80K people drinking all day it doesnt usually end well. I dont get why this makes the whole Jets fanbase classless but thats more just people upset right now. The girls shouldn't have started the fight and been hitting him first and the guy should have pushed them if he wanted to defend himself.

Honestly the most troubling part is that no one ever tries to break this stuff up. It takes a couple people walking inbetween to make sure this isn't a story.
