Explosive New Hernandez Details

This is looking worse by the minute, but there's still a lot we don't know. And the revelation that Lloyd was killed where he was found, and that the car was found nearby tells me there are players involved that we don't know yet. Drug deal gone awry still makes the most sense.

This seems like it is turning into one of those cases where whichever of the three makes a deal first wins and gets off or less jail time. This is another incident that I warn my son about, hanging around with bad people and if they do something while you are there, you are in trouble too. Hernandez may be the bad guy of the three.

It looks very bad and I am ready to wash my hands of him as a Patriot if only the obstruction of justice charges are true. Ray Lewis never should have been allowed back and I am not going to be a hypocrite about this now.

If he is involved in any way of killing a person, I want him gone......I don't care if he's found guilty or not......

I agree he should never be spoken of again if his involvement in this is true. And not that this is the least bit important with a man having lost his life, but can you believe the trainwreck this offseason has been? From the most explosive offense in the NFL, to losing Welker then more surgery for Gronk and now, barring a miracle, Hernandez will never play another down for us? Can't remember the last time there was so much bad news in such a brief timeframe.

So is there anyone here who still thinks he wasn't involved? :bricks::bricks:

I agree completely.

+1000

I would be a total hypocrite if I did anything but wish/think/hope that AHERN, If guilty of anything) be allowed back in the league at all. I do not think Ray Lewis should have been allowed back in period...As much as I liked AHern, by hands are washed of him...assuming even a modicum of the leaks being reported are true.

To be honest I am not worried about the Patriots. The most explosive offense in history has won allot of games but falls short when it is on the line. Remember the early 2000s, you didn’t even have to worry if they were behind going into the 4th because they would find a way to win. Now with the New England Colts, you worry if they are only up by a touchdown. I liked it better when Brady’s favorite receiver was the open one not Wes, Gronk or Hernandez. What they have become makes for great routs but they have lacked a toughness needed. I didn’t like the Colts and I am not fond of this version either. I like toughness and character over flash.

AHern needs to get Stallworth's attorney on the phone, stat!

Im a little late to the party in here and I don't know most of the details. Couple of questions.

1) The arrest warrant is only for obstruction as of now?

2) We kept hearing that Hernandez wasn't a suspect in the murder, but did police mention that had any suspects?

3) say he only is charged with obstruction, if he were to come clean and testify against someone he knew (assuming this is a plea deal) would he still be looking at jail time?

AH hasn't had a chance to tell his side of the story yet. I'm willing to give him a chance to clear his name but that doesn't mean I think he wasn't involved. It means I am waiting on final judgement.

Same here, to a similar extent. I certainly feel for AHern in one sense that he couldn't leave the demons behind - there's an element of tragedy there for sure. I can recognize that. But I don't want to have to root for him on a football field if some of these accusations pan out.

I think Ray Lewis is a unique case in that what angers me about him is that he never paid any debt to society, and then starts spouting BS sermon/preacher crap and a bunch of suckers buy it.

Yes, you would be a hypocrite, but your error is in thinking that way about either of them. If Hernandez got involved after the killing, panicked, and obstructed, he should be held accountable, take his punishment, and be allowed to get on with his life, including having a job in the NFL.

At least Hernandez doesn't have the mayor and D.A. holding a grandstanding press conference to announce that he's a murderer, simply because of name recognition.

He never went to prison, but no one else was even convicted of anything. He paid a price in other ways.

As for the preaching, I think it's sincere, but many of us are kind of glad it's over.

1) Yes

2) I don't think so.

3) Hard to say with what is known at this point but the signs don't look good.

I feel the same. Just thinking that someone on our team can be involved in killing a man and then trying to cover it up is too much.

Then he acts like he did nothing, tweeting the next morning and showing up to the stadium for who knows what. It's bad vibes.

Sucks, cause I really liked the guy. One of my favorites of the younger players. He was the first Nike jersey I bought. Maybe I'll have to get me a No. 5 jersey to atone. ;)

I will add I am glad the Patriots had the good sense to remove him from Gillette yesterday.

Didn't the falcons get back some of the Vick bonus money.

Theres your precedent in my opinion.

Wasn't referring to precedent. How much of the money still there? Post lawyers, cars for homies and bling.

I don't agree about Lewis or AHern...I am of the belief that it is a privileged to play in the NFL and should not be taken lightly. Just the fact that he is involved in the death of a 27 year old man in any way at all is enough for me to wash my hands of him. I can not, in good consciousness, root for thugs that are involved with a Murder, whether they pulled the trigger themselves or not...he was more than likely involved, Directly.

I have to agree with I read on twitter yesterday. If Aaron didn't do it, then he is doing absolutely every single thing he could possibly do wrong.

All the evidence points to him right now, his car near the body, him seen with the victim, and the nail in the coffin is his refusal to cooperate, and the destruction of potential evidence.

The whole "Snitches get stitches" mentality is going to cost him tens of millions of dollars, and his career. Obstruction to this degree is going to put him in prison for a few years at a minimum.

The dude just really ****ed himself over from the start of this whole incident to the point where, the only reason someone would dig themselves into such a hole, is because they killed a person, and the hole for that is much deeper.

I see no reason to rush to judgment. In highly publicized cases like this while when it looks bad, it usually is, there are many details that turn out to be inaccurate and other that are not reported.
I don't understand why we need to draw a conclusion today. The process will play out and ultimately we will know exactly what really happened, good, bad and/or ugly.

So far only obstruction, but I read that can still change. There is no time limit on charging for murder.

Police haven't said anything on the record. We'll know soon enough about suspects, or if one of Hernandez's buddies is already charged in the murder, or if someone else is. Pretty sure Hernandez isn't in the clear on the murder charge yet.

Ray Lewis was charged with two counts of murder, later changed to obstruction in exchange for testimony. He didn't serve jail time, but he was fined $250,000. I don't think he was suspended, but that was before Goodell cracked the whip. PacMan was suspended for his involvement in a shooting, this is a murder. I would not be surprised if we are looking at a multi-year, if not lifetime, suspension.
