Ryan Clark running his mouth again

Clark should worry about his own division, the Bengals are ready to kick the Steeler's @$$ after years of being door mats.

Dalton and Green in year 3
Eifert & Gresham
BJGE/Bernard
Hawkins in the slot

Throw in a top 10 defense, and the Steelers have their hands full.

No, but considering your WR situation, I would say that a guy with the playoff experience that he has as well as the experience in your system that he has as well would qualify as being important. Notice I said they were either stalwarts or important guys.

The same receiver situation we just addressed in the draft by grabbing Wheaton and Justin Brown? People are sleeping on Manny Sanders and AB is already a Pro Bowl receiver.

Given what I saw out of Heyward last season, that's doubtful. He could have improved on 2012, but I wasn't all that impressed with him last season.

Except that Heyward was the only bright spot on our defensive line for the majority of the year. With Hood disappointing and Woodley out of shape, the only time plays were happening was when Heyward was on the field. I don't know what game you saw or how many legitimate snaps you saw him on the field, but if you're going by a game or two and saying you were disappointed, I don't know what to tell you.

You said that only two of them are in their last year of their contracts, a point which I edited my post for an acknowledged. That being said, why would the team part ways with four more of them when those guys are still very much leaders on the team? Further, it doesn't seem like Pittsburgh has a plan in place to replace them at this point of time, in spite of what looks like a very good draft on the surface.

Because players don't get cut? One of our biggest issues right now is a lack of leadership which caused a divided locker room. Troy is chronically injured and Clark isn't getting any younger. You're talking about a passing of the torch in leadership here to a younger generation which is already happening. Go take a look at the articles in which guys like AB, Woodley and LT that are ready and willing to take on more of a leadership role.

Troy's cap hit is 10 million dollars. Now, granted, there's obviously an injury clause somewhere in his contract but he's not worth the money he's going to be paid anymore. There's a reason why his contract wasn't restructured - they're ready to let him go if he disappoints again this season.

Why would the team part with all of these leaders? It's really simple: we already have guys that have either a) outplayed them when they got the chance (see Heyward) or b) aren't living up to their contracts (see Polamalu). We're not handing off the leadership role to rookies here, these are guys that have been on the team for a while and understand what it takes to play for this organization.

We don't have a good plan in place to replace them? Says who? You? We lost James Harrison and we drafted Jarvis Jones. We lost Wallace and we got Markus Wheaton. We're on the verge of releasing / losing Polamalu and Clark, respectively, and we drafted Shamarko Thomas and already have Robert Golden on the roster.

I'm glad you're doubting our draft before rookie camp is over, though. You have to understand why I'm taking that with a grain of salt.

Guys, this "piece of work" named steelerscanada, is a poster over at steelersfever.

He complains about how low we are as Pats fans, and won't stoop to our level and encourages other stiller fans to do the same, yet he spends time over here spewing his stiller garbage. Don't feed the troll. Go read some of his glorious posts over there.
We should feel privileged to be blessed by his greatness I guess:rolleyes:
You'd think somebody who feels "dirty" even associating with pat fans would stay away from here.

Your band of mary's over at steelerfever await your insightful posts about "whipping" certain things out...what is that a messageboard of 12 year olds?
Walk on home boy.

Ryan Clark: Amendola is fragile, Brady ducks when he’s blitzed - Page 6 - Steelers Fever Forums

Oh, here's a link to what I said. I'm not hiding behind anything.

I'm glad you degrade an entire forum and then turn around and call us 12 year olds. I'm "spewing my Steelers" garbage by having a legitimate conversation regarding our depth? Wow, how could I possibly stoop so low.

Also, ya, go read what the insightful and well educated Patriots fan said on our boards. I thought I'd spread the wealth, ya know?

Yeah, not sure why that guy keeps posting on there. He takes a beating on everything he says.

First time I visited that site was when the Pats signed Sanders to an offer sheet, and I was completely shocked at the decorum over there. Went back today, and it was the same stuff only a different day. Classy.

Steelers should trade Big Ben - Steelers Fever Forums

Can you blame us? Every time a Patriots fan posts they get blasted because of posts like that. Now, if they came on and added to the conversation we wouldn't razz them but sadly, it's yet to happen.

To clarify my "whipping" comment, I was trying to avoid a "oh yeah?! well we have six rings!!!" thread as they have become common on there, sadly.

I'd think alot of sensible Pats fans would think twice about posting on that site...not so sure even they would be treated with any respect judging by a vast majority of the posters. Like I said I haven't spent much time over there, but what I did see was nothing I'd have any interest in joining in to discuss.

FoxboroFlyer--you and I both know from living in Pittsburgh how classless and idiotic the majority of Steeler fans are...it still amazes me to this day.

That isn't knocking this latest poster, because I always give people a fair chance to voice their opinion before jumping to conclusion, and I genuinely welcome him to his thoughts here.

As a whole however, I would probably rather deal with a NYJ fan than a Steeler fan. At least they are humble these days.

It's the Curse of Milledgeville. The Squeelers haven't won a SB since Ben the Rapist forced a drunken minor to fellate him in a Georgia bar men's room stall while his PA State Police posse kept anyone from intervening. Classy...

Clark should worry about his own division.

The Steelers have their hands full.

No doubt, but that's not how they operate over there. They are full of classless players (maybe not as much after Harrison's departure) who actually go out of their way to comment on other teams' Super Bowl scores..

Clark is entitled to his opinion. We've seen this before. The Steelers always have the capacity to beat NE, that isn't going to change this season. I always view the PIT game as a tough one no matter where it's played.

I do think that LeBeau finally smartened up and changed the defense from a zone to man-to-man the last time they played (PIT victory 23-17 in 2011), and that caught Brady off guard a bit. It will remain to be seen how Brady handles the defense this time around. It could go either way, and Clark may even have a point about Brady's clock going off and ducking for "ghosts."

I don't agree at all about his thoughts on Welker etc...apparently he doesn't remember TFB pre-2007??? Someone may need to remind Clark that Brady took his team to 4 AFCCG and won 3 SB's in his first 6 yrs without the help of Wes Welker.

One thing's for sure...those Steelers aren't too bright. I'm not sure why anyone would want to give NE bulletin board material, especially after they've seen this backfire before. What the hell is he even talking about TFB and the NEP for in the first place?

Agreed.
My disdain, for pittsburgh runs so deep that at times I will admit I jump the gun on presumptions when I come across a fan. However like you said seeing, hearing, and dealing with them everyday it's extremely difficult, for me to get past that stigma.
Their team has plenty of skeletons in their closet, yet they act as if they invented the game of football. I also believe a majority of steeler fans have no idea what "spygate" actually was cause if they knew the facts i'd think they'd stop making themselves look like morons by dwelling on it.

Huh, I don't get the connection/logic. Are you saying every team has a QB that is rapist so it's no big deal?

Agreed.

The pathetic thing is that they aren't bright enough to realize that:

1. We didn't beat them with our incredible offense (outside of one game in the 2004 AFCCG which was helped by the fact that they turned the ball over), which is what the Spygate argument is all about

2. Special teams and defense were the bigger reasons of those victories

3. There were many Steeler mistakes that hurt them in those games

4. We have a higher winning percentage NOW vs the spygate years

5. Our offensive numbers are much better NOW vs the spygate years

6. There wasn't even a rule in place until the 2006/2007 season, which means that none of those games could have been tainted in the first place, nor could any rules even be broken

7. All teams tape games, snaps, etc...the fact that it was done from the wrong area doesn't really mean much of anything

8. Their HC Bill Cowher has come out multiple times and claimed that it wouldn't have mattered anyways, due to the "wristband" system that their defending play callers ran, along with the changing of signals....yet their fans are too stupid to listen to their own former SB winning coach

9. They had their own problems during the 70's yrs when they had players, doctors etc admit that they used steroids the entire time; meaning they have no room to talk about "tainted titles"

10. They sound like crybabies by trying to cling to something so irrelevant at this point in time. Of course this goes hand in hand with Hines Ward (Wines Hard) physically crying after the 2004 AFCCG loss...pathetic way to represent your fanbase who is supposedly "tough as nails."

Dude, it's PITTSBURGH.

Things haven't changed there since DeNiro and Walken portrayed it's "beauty" in The Deer Hunter.

New England is home to the 21st century high tech/biotech economy.

Have pity.

Well done!

Exactly what is so difficult to comprehend on those bullet points?

Oh, it involves reading...yeah reading that's where the sticking point is.

Technically their team doctors are the ones who introduced steroids to the nfl in the 70's.
Pioneering steroids is certainly something they should hang their hats on.

The same receiver situation we just addressed in the draft by grabbing Wheaton and Justin Brown? People are sleeping on Manny Sanders and AB is already a Pro Bowl receiver.

Wheaton and Brown are rookies. Therefore, it's significant to note that one of the guys that has actual playing experience in your system is over 30 when assessing my "over 30" remark.

I'll have to take your word on it, then. I didn't see every Steelers game, but the ones that I did, Heyward was relatively a ghost.

Young guys say that all the time. A lot of our young guys said that when we were rebuilding. Some of them aren't here anymore. That being said, though, these guys are still on the roster as of 2013 so, once again, my point stands.

Troy's cap hit is 10 million dollars. Now, granted, there's obviously an injury clause somewhere in his contract but he's not worth the money he's going to be paid anymore. There's a reason why his contract wasn't restructured - they're ready to let him go if he disappoints again this season.

Good. Cut him. Hopefully Belichick will be paying attention when that happens.

I didn't see too much "outplaying" going on. If those guys, who won Super Bowls, were being outplayed, wouldn't the Steelers have then made the playoffs?

We don't have a good plan in place to replace them? Says who? You? We lost James Harrison and we drafted Jarvis Jones. We lost Wallace and we got Markus Wheaton. We're on the verge of releasing / losing Polamalu and Clark, respectively, and we drafted Shamarko Thomas and already have Robert Golden on the roster.

The majority of these guys have never played a snap in the NFL. Yet you're already counting on them to come in a seemlessly replace veterans that are responsible for two Super Bowl wins for your franchise? That logic seems sketchy, at best.

I'm glad you're doubting our draft before rookie camp is over, though. You have to understand why I'm taking that with a grain of salt.

I actually think you guys had a solid draft on paper. How that translates to the field remains to be seen.

Huh, I don't get the connection/logic. Are you saying every team has a QB that is rapist so it's no big deal?

Nope. Just predicting that's where the smack talk will go.

"Wel u guyz havent done noting since spygate fite me irl fgt"
