I just read the entire thread. Very entertaining to say the least.
Here's where I am at on the "deal": no way. But we do have to look at the history of Belichick here. He generally seems to jettison guys while there is still some tread on the tires. The possible exception to that was Bruschi, and it can be inferred that the organization talked Bruschi in to retirement instead of getting released. If you look at big name QB's, there's some history of them moving on, albeit for different reasons, at the end of their careers. Most simply were forced out, as was discussed earlier. There's no future HOF'er on this team now, as much as the pro-Mallett crowd would beg to differ. He has not taken snaps of consequence as has been already pointed out. At least with Montana, there was a body of work to look at with Young.
I honestly think Belichick has too much respect for Brady to launch him to some hopeless mess like Cleveland.
on a separate note... just thinking out loud... how many of the pro-Mallett crowd were pro-Bishop crowd? There always seems to be a % of people that want "the other guy".
