Anybody Else have a Bad feeling??

Houston is a very good team with tremendous talent. I expect a close game (within 7 points). I don't like reading or hearing about the Patriots being Goliath or the Texans having no chance because this simply isn't true. There is very little analysis done (except for Patfanken) and instead we see bold statements from writers that really don't know much about football but would rather delve into the intangibles, mystique and psyche (which they know even less about).
I find myself trying to appreciate this team more and more and simply relish the oportunity of seeing them compete in the playoffs because Brady doesn't have many more years.

My uneasiness comes from the fact that the Pats blew out Houston only a month ago. Its very difficult to beat a team twice in a season. There is almost an extra incentive for them to play better than they did the last time.

Out of curiosity: if the Pats had lost 42-14 to the Texans last month, and were traveling to Houston for this week's game, would you feel better about their chances than you do now?

Humiliating a team gives them a lot of motivation. I doubt we see the same type of play as we did last time. They'll be bringing their A-game. I don't take a win for granted at all. I think the 9-10 point line on this game is a little crazy. I wouldn't give Houston 10 points for this game.

I think Baltimore 2009 and jets 2010 have scarred me

When I think about that, I remember that the 2012 Texans are not the 2009 Ravens or the 2010 Jets and the 2012 Patriots are certainly not the 2009 Patriots or the 2010 Patriots.

People need to stop looking at the 2009 and 2010 seasons as a template to this team. The 2009 Patriots had no heart whatsoever with a lot of bad eggs. The 2010 Jets were a much better defense than the 2012 Texans' defense and Ryan is more of a match up specific gameplanner than Kubiak. This is the most talented Patriots team since 2007.

Normally I don't get like this on a Tuesday before the game. I just have a really bad feeling about this game. I don't know why.

Houston scares the hell out of me...

Ugh

How will we know the difference from your normal posting?

I'm nervous about going into the playoffs with the 29th ranked pass defense.

They've been better lately, but are they playoff ready ?

Other than that , no I'm not nervous.

reminds me of the movie platoon when red says to sgt. barnes "I got a bad feeling about this one sarge....I may not make it out of here!". To which Sgt. Barnes replies "we all gotta die some day".

Anyway, I always have a bad feeling before games. Had a bad feeling before the first houston game and every other big game they've played. Just how I roll.

O'Neill: Bob, I got a bad feeling on this one, all right? I mean I got a bad feeling! I don't think I'm gonna make it outta here! D'ya understand what I'm sayin' to you?
Barnes: Everybody gotta die some time, Red.

even though this is the playoffs this has trap game written all over it.

This is like Seahawks vs Saints from 2(3?) years ago.

Nobody is giving the Texans a chance outside of Houston and that's when things always go wrong.

Nobody gave the giants a chance in 07.

The Pats still measure up well vs the Texans(shut down foster, double Johnson. Keep 2 blockers for jj).

But yes, I'm nervous.

Trap game in playoffs ??? Lol

Baltimore and Denver 2011 should have helped. Maybe you're just naturally negative?

How does last year's bye to The Super Bowl help?
Exposing the hollow Tebow show, a Lee Evens drop for the ages, and the Kundiff shank-o-rama?
That's help?

Yeah, I feel good heading into the playoffs this year but offering up those 2 games as confidence builders to someone who's worried is a total placebo at best.

I'm not one for irrational exuberance, but I feel better about this squad as currently comprised than I have about any Patriots playoff team for some time. I don't know if it's that everyone seems to be healthy or the green shoots of an actual defense beginning to manifest, or both, but I am and will remain cautiously optimistic.

As with any game... Turnovers scare me... Stupid fumbles, etc...

Knowing with certainty that Talib and Dennard are both 100% would help me get there. I'm worried, to the extent that it's almost impossible not to be worried when you get to the final 8 teams. Especially this year, when there are no frauds left, like Denver last season.

The Patriots had to win two games to get to the Super Bowl. They won both of them. wtf else do you want from them? Criticize them for not closing the deal once they got there, sure, but it's pretty stupid to dock them for not winning with enough style points on their way there.

#1) Pats are rested and the Texans are not
#2) Brady can audible at will at home
#3) Texans have not seen the AH/Gronk TE package (can pass or run from it depending on what the D gives you)
#4) Chandler Jones and Ninko should be 100% and ready to attack Schaub
#5) Texans generally run off center..tough to do that with Wilfork/Love
#6) Texans are an awful come from behind team unless assisted by the officials (see Detroit)
#7) Conditions will not be windy, actually mild for this time of year and should allow the Pats to pass freely
#8) Texans barely beat the Bengals
#9) Patriots D most recently shut out the Dolphins and were not even at full strength
#10) Don't use the Jets as a comparison as usually other AFC East match ups are tougher more personal. Use last year's Broncos as a more accurate comparison and again the weather conditions should favor the passing team.

Hope this helps

#11 Texans have 4 offensive TD (5 if you count that late one against the Pats) in the last 5 games. 3 of those games were at home.

True...but at least they're practicing. One of Talib/Dennard needs to be close to 100% so we can keep McCourty at S. If not, then we could be in some trouble, especially if we play Denver as I expect we will.

I look at that as saying they're due lol

I'm always concerned when the Pats play a team good enough that it won a playoff game just the previous week.
