The Ravens' Last Stand?

Why is everyone rooting for a Ravens win? Doesn't that mean we might have to face the Ravens in Baltimore (if we don't win out, and the Ravens do)?

Whereas if the Broncos win out (and so do we), we'd still have the head to head over them...meaning they'd have to come to Foxboro in the playoffs.
We only care about this game IF we lose to the Niners. There are 2 reasons really. First we are holding our nose, throwing up in our mouth's, and rooting for the Ratbirds because they are more likely to lose a game after today. They play the Giants and Bengals after the Broncos, both good teams that will be fighting for playoff berths all the way. After today the Broncos are as likely to lose a game as the Pats are.

Secondly, even if the Ravens win out, given the choice, I'd much rather play them in Baltimore, than play the Broncos in Denver.

Obviously the best situation for the Pats would be to win out....as usual.

Face it guys, the Denver Mannings are going to shellack Baltimore. The Ravens are not playing like the Ravens of yesteryear at this point in the season.
If I was the Broncos, I don't want Home Field in the playoffs.
Sure, you get the altitude thing, but you also get Manning in the cold weather.

I have a hard time seeing the Pats losing more than 1 game, if that. 2 are at home, and the road game is against Jax. So we'd either have to lose 2 home games or 2 in a row (a home game and a loss to Jax) to finish worse than 12-4. Given how we've been playing, I don't think that will happen.

Given how beat up the Ravens are right now and how much is going on there, I think the odds of them winning out are very, very low.

So I see the Pats having a better record than Baltimore as a near certainty, whereas 12-4 with Denver winning out is a real risk.

No...denver has one of the best crowds in the league and has the thin air advantage. So if he doesn't play in denver he'll play in foxboro or baltimore which are almost as bad if not worse than playing in denver weather wise. They're be going to houston either way unless the texans collapse.

I think the Ravens D has reached a tipping point as an elite D, Lewis is finally showing his age and E Reed is beginning to get injured a lot, Suggs hurt + the losses in FA.

They will need to do some rebuilding now.

Looking forward to this game and the Colts/Texans, love the NFL Ticket.

doesn't matter, as long as the Pats win out the only team we need to lose a game is Houston, go Vikings!

Yeah, I think the game we should be more focused on today is Indy at Houston.

Realistically...indy could win the south. They sweep the texans and beat the chiefs and it's theirs. Things are going to get very interesting if colts win today.

This game drives home just how much i dislike the Ravens. The Patriots really need them to pull this off but it still sucks to root for them to win. Other than the Jets, who suck, the Ravens are the team I dislike the most in football.

Am I the only one who is really not scared of the Broncos?

Ihedigbo is starting. He'll tweak his shoulder, or some other body part. They'll have a time out on the field. That will inspire the Ravens the way it inspired the Patriots.

The Ravens have this game in the bag.

If it's in Foxboro I'm quite comfortable. If we have to go to Mile High not so much. In 2005 by the end of the season I felt we were the better team, and it seemed like we were outplaying them in that divisional playoff game for the most part but 3 or 4 critical plays changed the entire game. It still haunts me. Much like Baltimore - even though I feel both teams are vastly overrated and we are easily better than both, going into their stadiums is somewhat concerning.

Good riddance! The Ravens are the most reprehensible team in the league. Criminals and thugs. And they stole the a game from the Patriots when they met earlier this year; rarely have I seen a game that was so obviously rigged. If the replacement officials had been running the game there would have been an outcry....

I am not afraid of denver at home...away it's a different story..why we need to finish ahead of them in the standings this year...brady plays horrible in denver

The have a great QB decent RBs but mcgahee is done. their D is a small D which helps out favor with gronk/hernandez ect

You are a sick, disturbed individual :)

Let it be so!

The Broncos don't "scare" me, but it would be foolish to underestimate Manning, who can always hang 30 on an opposing team. The Broncos have to be really worried about facing the Patriots because they know their defense has no answers for the Patriots offense, especially once they go to their fast break offense. The Broncos defense literally came off the field shaking their heads knowing they really have no answers defensively, the Patriots can run at will and throw at will against them, and unless Manning has the game of his life and Brady a bad game it is hard to see the Broncos beating them.

Ravens will destroy the Doinks today.

Peyton is going to have to be patient and settle for quick, short passes (which he has been doing for the most part). Otherwise, Suggs Ngata and Co. and going to blow him up and get inside his head and damage his fragile ego. Looking forward to seeing lots of Manningface today.

I still don't know who to root against.

I'm rooting for the Ravens and then pray they lose a game after this week.
