At this juncture i'm not so sure McCourty belongs on the 53.
If he continues the 2011 and 2nd half of Baltimore trend then McCourty is not an NFL calibre corner.
And when has SMY ever been considered a good analyst?
If Belichick kept Butler and Wilhite on the roster for over a year,McCourty ain't going anywhere.
Scary thing is,McCourty is better than those 2 guys were
I really hope its just a confidence issue rather than a lack of talent issue.
T Smith was playing with an emotional level that could never be duplicated on Sunday
The replacement officials have helped the Patriots to a 1-2 record with questionable decisions favoring the opposition. With regular officials, the Patriots would be 3-0 (the Woodhead TD would stand and the Tucker FG would be called correctly), and we'd be feeling rosy about the team's prospects. Perhaps the replacements have done the Pats a favor. The team used to win without thinking about it. Now, winning isn't a luxury anymore. Let's hope a fire is lit under the team.Yeah, all of those offensive pass interference non-calls will usually do that for you. By the replacement refs. However, the regular refs usually also miss those calls.
McCourty needs to focus for sixty minutes not thirty minutes along with the rest of the defense. Now, winning isn't a luxury anymore. Let's hope a fire is lit under the team.
We are in agreement. There appears to be too many mental focus errors committed by Patriots players. As BB says "do your job".McCourty needs to focus for sixty minutes not thirty minutes along with the rest of the defense.
Reiss has been dismissed as a poor analyst for a long time.

Don't think so. The analysts on NFL Live (Dieon Sanders and Steve Mariucci)agreed that it was the correct call.

When it comes to officiating, I'd prefer to reference someone who has worked in an official capacity opposed to journalists or former coaches and players.Don't think so. The analysts on NFL Live (Dieon Sanders and Steve Mariucci)agreed that it was the correct call.
Who? McCourty was reasonable in all 3 games. He made a huge error of judgement on a couple of plays. McCourty is being unfairly maligned.Other players get paid too. The players McCourty is going against are just plain outplaying him. He just can't keep up with their speed. What happened his rookie season seemed to be a fluke at this point.
Might be better served for him to go to FS. We need someone there who can somewhat cover. And as bad as McCourty has looked, it's not as bad as Chung or Gregory has looked in pass coverage.

For some reason, people have conveniently forgotten what the Patriots D did to the Cardinals O, especially given the poor field position thanks to ST & O turnovers they were defending. Arizona passed for roughly 140 yards.
The Pats go hosed in both games by the officials.
