Does Devin McCourty belong at FS?

It sure would be nice if he could hold on to an interception for once. How many consecutive easy interceptions has he dropped?

That is true....

A Grandmother could have caught that pass for the INT in the Ravens game which very well could have saved the game.

In His rookie season he caught INTs one after the other and wasn't thinking about what he was going to do with it once he caught it,he just grabbed it and ran with it until someone caught him if they could.

.....these days he is getting his hand on the ball and thinking too far ahead of what he wants to do with it...which causes dropped INTs.

It seems like he lost his playmaking skills the minute the 2010 season was over and never regained it back.

At this juncture i'm not so sure McCourty belongs on the 53.

If he continues the 2011 and 2nd half of Baltimore trend then McCourty is not an NFL calibre corner.

If Belichick kept Butler and Wilhite on the roster for over a year,McCourty ain't going anywhere.

Scary thing is,McCourty is better than those 2 guys were

I really hope its just a confidence issue rather than a lack of talent issue.

IMO Its not talent issue or a confidence one

IMO Devin has lost his fundamentals which he brought into the NFL as a rookie,it somehow dissappeared into the night after the Jets beat the Pats in the divisional round.

He doesn't look back at the ball when near the receiver thus either getting penalized or simply losing his man and his INT skills have evaporated into Ben Watson's type of hands, which are butterfingers.

T Smith was playing with an emotional level that could never be duplicated on Sunday

Yeah, all of those offensive pass interference non-calls will usually do that for you. By the replacement refs. However, the regular refs usually also miss those calls.

The replacement officials have helped the Patriots to a 1-2 record with questionable decisions favoring the opposition. With regular officials, the Patriots would be 3-0 (the Woodhead TD would stand and the Tucker FG would be called correctly), and we'd be feeling rosy about the team's prospects. Perhaps the replacements have done the Pats a favor. The team used to win without thinking about it. Now, winning isn't a luxury anymore. Let's hope a fire is lit under the team.

McCourty needs to focus for sixty minutes not thirty minutes along with the rest of the defense.

We are in agreement. There appears to be too many mental focus errors committed by Patriots players. As BB says "do your job".

Don't think so. The analysts on NFL Live (Dieon Sanders and Steve Mariucci)agreed that it was the correct call.

Yes he belongs at safety n passing situations 4sure. But we need ras I Arrington and Moore to step up at cb n play great with consistency if they don't we need to draft an elite coverage cb like Jonathan Joseph or drc

Well Mike Perreira who knows a thing or two about these decisions reckoned the regular officials would never have called that. And the person who was considered to be held, Kerry Rhodes, said he didn't expect to see a flag on the play.

Other players get paid too. The players McCourty is going against are just plain outplaying him. He just can't keep up with their speed. What happened his rookie season seemed to be a fluke at this point.

Might be better served for him to go to FS. We need someone there who can somewhat cover. And as bad as McCourty has looked, it's not as bad as Chung or Gregory has looked in pass coverage.

When it comes to officiating, I'd prefer to reference someone who has worked in an official capacity opposed to journalists or former coaches and players.

Who? McCourty was reasonable in all 3 games. He made a huge error of judgement on a couple of plays. McCourty is being unfairly maligned.

For some reason, people have conveniently forgotten what the Patriots D did to the Cardinals O, especially given the poor field position thanks to ST & O turnovers they were defending. Arizona passed for roughly 140 yards.

The Pats go hosed in both games by the officials.

I wouldn't call getting outplayed an error of judgement.

Our front 7 dominated the first two games. Whether McCourty did well in coverage or not, our front 7 made sure Kolb and Locker didn't have enough time survey the field.
