Who's going to training camp?

Never seen anyone tailgate with a grill. Seen guys sitting in chairs while kids were in the patriot experience.

I go 3 or 4 times every year. Right now I am going on Monday the 30th, as there is no contact for first three days of camp. And I will go the first day of the scrimmage with the saints.

I'll be going again this year. Took two weeks off for my football viewing and autograph hunting pleasure.

I will go to at least the first four practices.

Summer breezes......

Rookies to scout

Vets to see

Football returns

ahhhhhhhhhhhh yes

I will find my way to at least 3 or 4.

Ian

Maybe it's time to coordinate the schedule for attendees and organize TC reports.

Perhaps a collection to compensate participants with dinner or merchandise?
Its real hard to get a great impression of the players from the stands. You are very limited in what you can see because when they are in individual and group activities, they are often too far away to see.

Which is why I take with a grain of salt the accuracy of any media claims both good and bad. Or for that matter any claims by fans both good and bad....including myself. I was all aboard on the Ron Brace bandwagon his rookie year based on a few drills I watched early in camp. I was impressed by his quick first step.

Bottom line - I go to 3 or 4 a year, since I'm retired and only a half hour away. But as far as MEANINGFUL analysis, you can only get the barest of impressions. The best part of the experience in the interaction of being with fellow Pats fans, and the atmosphere of Patriots football. It would be great to meet in person some of the people I interact with so often online.

BTW- by all means try and go to the practices when they are in pads (which are rare these days). Watching them run around in shorts and t-shirts is like watching paint dry

I'm planning to make a trek out of hot & humid Florida for a week in New England, and if so will definitely go to at least one training camp practice. I haven't been to one for about 15 years, so this will be a treat for me. Right now I'm targeting the practices with the Saints.

You know this talk about training camp and the lack of 2 a days, and padded practices got me thinking and I went back to some of my old coaching files to look back at some of the practice schedules we had back when we took our team to camp at the LaSallette Seminary in NH for a week. This was a typical day

Reveille: 5:30 AM

Special Teams Practice: 6:00 - 7:00 (short and T-Shirts)

Breakfast- 7:30

Offensive Practice: 9:30-11:30 (full pads)

Lunch - 12:OO

Defensive Practice - 2:30-4:30 (full pads)

Dinner 6:00pm

All the full pad practices where broken down like this Stretching, Individual skills, Group skills, Team work, and Conditioning, It was kind of interesting to see that its pretty much the same structure we see in TC's today.

Well Now that I opened up that old file box, I guess I'll spend the rest of the afternoon remincing about the kids I coached 40 years ago. Its what you do when you are retired

Just happens that i will be working 20 mins from the field on opening day of practice so i will be heading over to practice..

Going 7/29. First time, can't wait.

Got my YOU GOT GRONK'D tee all ready :D

I'll be the guy with the shirt. Can't miss me.

If you mean a Pat's shirt I'll be wearing one too, we should stick right out in the crowd. :lol2:

I'll definitely be heading up from PVD for a practice or two.

The only thing I haven't figured out is who gets invited to that special training camp section? Is it season ticket holders?

The 2010 reports on the practices with the Saints was probably the best thing patsfans.com produced.

Maybe this is Brace's year....and you'll miss it.

We are going to need two reports from you. The serious one and the other one! I think I'll enjoy the latter one more.:)

Jeez, Patspsycho hasn't been on since May. He is the king of TC on here, hopefully he is back soon.

I am hoping to go next weekend. Does anyone know how long it lasts? I cannot find it anywhere online.
