Worried about the next upcoming game, anyone else?

I worry before every game. Then the excitement of the kickoff usually kicks me into 'be quiet and let me watch' mode...:snob:

As far as I'm concerned, no game is a gimme'.

Did you watch the last two Colts games? Did you watch the Pitt game last year? Did you watch the AFC championship game in '04? There are presumably others in there, those are just the ones I remember well.

peyton is a different player in the playoffs. i can't see why you would need more evidence.

I've marveled at the guy this year and almost forgot too. then i watched Indy-KC.

I hope you are right, having patrick surtain and ty law in the backfield is a lot different than samuel and hobbs, say what you want about past playoff performances, peyton has made our secondary look like a bunch of red shirted freshman.

Of course I'm worried. I'm worried about the possibility of Manning, the Vinatraior and especially Polian getting a superbowl ring. I mean it's bad enough the Steelers were given one last year.

Put me in the conspiracy category.

I have become convinced over the past few years that Belichick will use a vanilla gameplan against a team that he expects to meet again in the playoffs. Not saying that the game was thrown, but that it was used as an experiment to see how an opponent responds to varying circumstances, plays, schemes, etc. This game will be entirely different than the last 2 times the teams met.

I am bullish about a return to the SB.

good man....good points here....

The only reason I ask is becasue of out history with the Colts. I really dont know if I should be worried but it just bugs me a little. I think the boys can do it but Im not sure.:(

whos not worried, its an afc championship game. Im worried. The Colts D has improved. Manning is coming off a bad game, so he'll defenitly improve this week. Its going to be a close game, i really dont know what to expect. We can do it, we have to unite as a TEAM, like we did last week when we took out the cry babies.

I'm always worried until they take a lead. What fan isn't?

I am worried about this game as well. I don't think that we intimidate the Colts anymore like we did in 2003 and 2004. I have a feeling that this game is going to be a shootout.

Hell yes I am nervous....very nervous!!!

As an Indy fan I think the last two meetings IN FOXBORO ( especially the 2005 MNF game) did a lot of good in excersicing demons. As a fan I can say we are not affraid of you anymore. You do not intimidate me anymore. I still respect you but the fear is gone. I know you are beatable.

I have been frustrated that NE hasn't come to town since 2003. So I am glad to see them find their way here.

Having said all that, this is it. PERIOD. This is what I wanted. If we are to get to the promised land we have to do it through the Patriots. I will allow you this: We lose and I must accept we are your biatches now and forevermore. But we must lose for me to feel that way. The game isn't played on paper. I think we have a shot a beating the Pats ( and vice versa).

Hell yes I am nervous....very nervous!!!

More worried after reading Albert's excellent analysis (Boston Herald's website) on how the Chargers successfully went against Banta-Cain and Bruschi.

BINGO. If we knew we'd win, it wouldn't be a game.

I'm very worried. I'm worried that Adam V. will beat us on a last second FG. Otherwise, I think the teams match up evenly, with the Colts having the distinct home field advantage. Let's not underestimate the crowd noise factor that can be very advantageous to a smaller, quicker defense like Indy. I really think Brady & Co. will have to absolutely play their best game of the season to come out on top. Let's hope that's what we will see :)

NEMstrodamus predicts.....

4th quarter, .04 seconds left. Pats 30, Colts 28.

Colts Ball on the Pats 33 yl.

Vinatieri to try a 50 yard field goal.

The ball is snapped.

The ball is down.

The kick is on it's way....And..........it hits the goal post and bounces back onto the field...no good.

Lonnie Paxton runs out onto the field, into the end zone, scoops up the ball and does a snow angel....... :D

Thanks, NEM. That would make my season. :D

I hate the Colts much more than the Chargers, and would rather lose to the Chargers than the Colts. So in that sense, I am worried, meaning I want the Pats to win no matter what. As far as the game itself, we can win unless we have a let down, or effects from a shorter week, like Hobbs hurting.

I am actually more worried that the refs will screw the game up due to Polian's meddling than anything else. If we lose a game, I hope it is at least our fault and not the refs.

That's how I feel too. I'm nervous about losing to the Colts-that would be devastating-nevermind losing it to an Adam Vinitieri FG,so in that respect I'm nervous. I have every confidence in BB and Brady. My hope is,as you said, that they're not beaten and battered from Sunday, physically or emotionally. That game was draining, and they need to get pumped again-big time.
That said,I heard tonight that Dungy's resting his players-"3 days of practice is enough". They'll be fresh. Dungy's counting on the Pats being spent.

Sure Dungy... Something's gotta work against these guys :)

I'm definitely in full on homer mode by this point, but it looks to me like the more battered they get and the better the competition, the harder it is to beat our guys. I don't think anybody left anything in the tank against SD, on either side, and I expect Sunday's game to be about the same.

I don't think getting dinged up a week prior is going to do the trick. In fact, if I were Dungy, I'd have guys practicing their butts off, especially that run D, which might not be on such solid ground.

Heck yes I'm worried.

Peyton's laser arm might blow a hole throw Hobbs' chest.

I'm not worried at all. Come on, Peyton in the playoffs? I'm guessing 2, maybe 3 picks - one run back by soon to be multi-millionaire Asante Samuel.

I can't stand Peyton & all the national media experts whining that he deserves a ring. He NEVER has a clutch performance (unless you count him wrapping his hands around his throat as clutch). And he never will.

Man, he gets under my skin...win something before you sellout, at least.

I am not worried, I wasn't worried about the SD (not that it helps the team win) but I got a good overall feeling about this game. Also check out the last ten years for the AFCCG the home team lost 6 times. This team is so Battle tested.

'97 AFC Denver Broncos Pittsburgh Steelers 24-21Three Rivers Stadium
'99 AFC Tennessee Titans Jacksonville Jaguars 33-14 ALLTEL Stadium
'00 AFC Baltimore Ravens Oakland Raiders 16-3 Oakland Coliseum
'01 AFC New England Patriots Pittsburgh Steelers 24-17 Heinz Field
'04 AFC New England Patriots Pittsburgh Steelers 41-27 Heinz Field
'05 AFC Pittsburgh Steelers Denver Broncos 34-17 Invesco Field at Mile High

Yep. I am worried. The Colts D has considerably improved. They have gained confidence with their 2 playoff wins. They have Peyton, Marvin, Reggie, etc. Anyway, Go Pats.:rocker:
