The only reason I ask is becasue of out history with the Colts. I really dont know if I should be worried but it just bugs me a little. I think the boys can do it but Im not sure.:(

I hate the Colts much more than the Chargers, and would rather lose to the Chargers than the Colts. So in that sense, I am worried, meaning I want the Pats to win no matter what. As far as the game itself, we can win unless we have a let down, or effects from a shorter week, like Hobbs hurting.

I am actually more worried that the refs will screw the game up due to Polian's meddling than anything else. If we lose a game, I hope it is at least our fault and not the refs.

I'm always worried. That said, I was actually very calm at the game against the Chargers. The keys will be the similar. Limit the big play on defense and don't turn the ball over on offense.

I would have to say I am slightly worried. The Pats had a very, very tough hard fought game, with a shorter week now, and flying all the way to the west coast and now back to indi. One thing is for damn sure. This indi D is probably runnin' high and alot of those guys are going to come out huntin'.
If we can stop Peyton from completing those 15-20 yd. passes that he regularly does against us and limit the running game we should be good. Our secondary play was great IMO against the Chargers but I am sure we all know very well that Harrison and Wayne are much bigger threats than Jackson and Co. We did shut down Gates. How has Clark been looking?
Here's to another great matchup and possibly the best playoff football that we have possibly seen in the NFL in quite some yrs. Also, here's to another Pats victory.:eat3:

My thoughts exactly. Part of me would die if we lost to the Dolts, thereby allowing Napolian, Dungheap and Payaton to bask in the glory.

I, too, am very, very worried. I would feel much better if we were going to Baltimore.

Had the Donkeys defeated the 49ers, I think that Fat Bastard could have taken the Jest to Indy and found a way to win there, while the Pats would have finally tossed the Denver monkey off their collective back. If we could have won a SB without having to play the Dolts at Indy, I could have lived with that. Similar to the Bruins winning Stanley Cups in 1970 and '72 without facing Montreal either time.

Yes, Peyton Manning. He's already asking fans not to sell their tickets to NE fans.

Yeah, Im always worried before a game. I start to feel better after we plant out first touchdown, or field goal. I realize this isnt a "winning" way, but it still makes me feel good. ;) After all, I think we will make this Superbowl! I am worried though, I alwyas worry more in playoff/Superbowl time!!!!!

I am very worried, I think the colts are the best team at exposing the patriots weakness which is downfield coverage/secondary. I only have this opinion from what I have seen the colts offense do to the pats secondary on TV. Even if samuel has a great game like he did in san diego look to manning to go after hobbs. As Reiss was asked in bag of email questions, he thinks the Pats will have something similiar to what the ravens did, which was keep the safties way down field, which as to be done.

Colts are playing very well right now and knowing they only need one more game to get to the promised land might be too much for the Patriots to overcome. I'm not confident at all in this one. I'm a die hard Patriots fan but I just don't have a good feeling about this game.

Hell yeah I'm worried, we're playing a good team, and I really believe Belichick when he says past performance doesn't determine how a game will end. Whether you think the teams are evenly matched, or even if you think the Pats have a 60/40 or 70/30 shot at winning, there's still a lot of opportunity for a loss.

part of me says history is just that. the other part of my says that Peyton's chokiness and NE's ability to win the big games are very relevant.

My most recent memory of peyton is him playing a hell of a game and doing what he needed whenever he needed to to beat the pats. then I think back to '04 and him putting 3 on the board.

I can understand people forgetting. I'm a Pats fan and I'm wary of Peyton. I know better. I know the happy feet and Manning face will show up. I know the Pats will be able to score on Indy. I know the Patriots will beat the Colts.

    I'm still nervous though.

I'm worried. I don't buy into the Peyton choke theory and he has owned us the last 2 times we've played them. I think he and Dungy have figured out the Pats D. This is a worse matchup than SD as its our weakness (pass defense) against their strength (pass offense).

But as with the SD game, as long as we have BB and #12 I still like our chances. It seems that no matter how bad the matchup looks there's always that sense of optimism as those guys are such winners.

I am worried about this game as well. I don't think that we intimidate the Colts anymore like we did in 2003 and 2004. I have a feeling that this game is going to be a shootout.

Did you watch the last two Colts games? Did you watch the Pitt game last year? Did you watch the AFC championship game in '04? There are presumably others in there, those are just the ones I remember well.

peyton is a different player in the playoffs. i can't see why you would need more evidence.

I've marveled at the guy this year and almost forgot too. then i watched Indy-KC.

Put me in the conspiracy category.

I have become convinced over the past few years that Belichick will use a vanilla gameplan against a team that he expects to meet again in the playoffs. Not saying that the game was thrown, but that it was used as an experiment to see how an opponent responds to varying circumstances, plays, schemes, etc. This game will be entirely different than the last 2 times the teams met.

I am bullish about a return to the SB.

I am worried, especially without Rodney. We've been beaten at home twice in a row by mostly the same team. The first was really bad, and while the score in the second was closer, we were outplayed throughout.

Sorry I do not know this, but what players does each team have that they did not have in the game earlier this season?

(In 04, I thought, how can we possibly stop this offense too.)

I worry before every game. Then the excitement of the kickoff usually kicks me into 'be quiet and let me watch' mode...:snob:

As far as I'm concerned, no game is a gimme'.

I hope you are right, having patrick surtain and ty law in the backfield is a lot different than samuel and hobbs, say what you want about past playoff performances, peyton has made our secondary look like a bunch of red shirted freshman.

Of course I'm worried. I'm worried about the possibility of Manning, the Vinatraior and especially Polian getting a superbowl ring. I mean it's bad enough the Steelers were given one last year.

whos not worried, its an afc championship game. Im worried. The Colts D has improved. Manning is coming off a bad game, so he'll defenitly improve this week. Its going to be a close game, i really dont know what to expect. We can do it, we have to unite as a TEAM, like we did last week when we took out the cry babies.

Hell yes I am nervous....very nervous!!!

As an Indy fan I think the last two meetings IN FOXBORO ( especially the 2005 MNF game) did a lot of good in excersicing demons. As a fan I can say we are not affraid of you anymore. You do not intimidate me anymore. I still respect you but the fear is gone. I know you are beatable.

I have been frustrated that NE hasn't come to town since 2003. So I am glad to see them find their way here.

Having said all that, this is it. PERIOD. This is what I wanted. If we are to get to the promised land we have to do it through the Patriots. I will allow you this: We lose and I must accept we are your biatches now and forevermore. But we must lose for me to feel that way. The game isn't played on paper. I think we have a shot a beating the Pats ( and vice versa).

Hell yes I am nervous....very nervous!!!

More worried after reading Albert's excellent analysis (Boston Herald's website) on how the Chargers successfully went against Banta-Cain and Bruschi.

I'm very worried. I'm worried that Adam V. will beat us on a last second FG. Otherwise, I think the teams match up evenly, with the Colts having the distinct home field advantage. Let's not underestimate the crowd noise factor that can be very advantageous to a smaller, quicker defense like Indy. I really think Brady & Co. will have to absolutely play their best game of the season to come out on top. Let's hope that's what we will see :)
