Bernard Pollard whines about player safety rules; calls Brady "pretty boy"

You make it sound like Brady was able to get the league to change the rule. He had no say in it. Plus, the rule is the same for every QB in the league. I don't see how the Patriots are to blame or are favored by this rule at all.

The rule is supposed to be the same for all QBs, yet the NFL network ran commercials for 2 years straight showing Flacco getting a Colts helmet right in the kisser. You can take a police baton to Flaccos knee and not get called.

We all know why the point of emphasis on that rule came about. A big prime-time TV draw was lost for a year. The suits hate that kind of stuff.

*ROFLMAO* Sorry, but you are becoming a troll with your idiotic comments.

Patriots players show plenty of emotion, personality, and speak their minds truthfully. Just because you are ignorant of that fact doesn't make it any less true.

Do yourself a favor and zip it on things you clearly don't know about.

Pats players do speak smarter though. They don't speak everything that comes straight to mind. They are trained to deal with the media that way for good reason.

As a Ravens fan who has watched every game this year, Pollard has played pretty clean and does not seem to do the things that nearly landed his predecessor at SS (Dawan Landry) in a wheelchair. He also hasn't run off at the mouth, which leads me to believe he was baited somewhat.

There is also some validity to what he says since the rule was created as a result of Brady's ACL injury. LT ended Theismann's career and it didn't prompt a rule change. I haven't looked it up, but I'm sure Brady wasn't the first starting qb to get injured like that. None of those guys got the rule change.

Bullkrap.

The rule was instituted after the Carson Palmer injury.

You can look it up.

Reporters don't bait players?

Riiiiight

He was either going to answer with the quote above, or say something like, "I'm really sorry about that injury and really didn't mean it. I hope Brady can forgive and forget". What do you think he's going to say during AFCC week?

What a dope.

How does one get "baited" into injecting the term "pretty boy"?

Was he given mind altering drugs?

I hope he dives at Brady's knee, hits Brady's brace, breaks his neck, and becomes a quadriplegic who has to crap in a bag the rest of his life.

Next.

Pollard is a punk ***** wanna-be thug who I'd gladly treat like a Kerrigan. If Ray Lewis couldn't play football he'd be in jail where he belongs.

It's a trash team from a trash city. Crab cakes, crack, and crime. welcome to Bal'more.

The problem here in this thread is that a few Ravens fans thought they could come in here and whine about the "Brady rule", armed with Bleacher Report-level knowledge, but they were woefully unprepared to back up their "assertions". Now, they're butthurt and trolling it up. Eh...

But yes, I agree with a couple of the above comments. There have been a couple of good Ravens posters. If you happen to be one of those, check out the threads started by Jays52 and patfranken. Good reads.

Not much to alter. I knew the trolls would be coming with their 'The wire' screen names. So Gangsta.

**** all y'all.

And the level of blind homerism and jock worship by you guys is equally disappointing. Why do you feel the need to talk down your team's opponent and their players? That's textbook insecurity. Talk about football, not press conferences.

You are criticizing a bunch of guys who got C's in basket weaving for not being media savvy. There are fortune 500 CEOs who have the same problem. Have any of you ever stood at a podium in front of national news cameras and reporters? Didn't think so. Yet you dig up any stupid quote and act outraged.

It's football. Guys get hurt. Even stars. If you want something to cry about, there are some real tragedies happening every day.

Sorry, it's just that we are used to mature adults as our players here.

Not imbeciles who get "baited" into using terms like "pretty boy".

Lemme guess, Matt, you're the lawyer who came up with the "Don't blame the murderer, he ate too many sugary sweets -defense".

What do you think goes on on the field during every football game? Dudes talk trash to opponents all day, and you think Tom Brady is gonna have somebody scared...When did he become Suge Knight?

Trash talk on the field is one thing.....mouthing off in the media(which is what he did) is quite another. With Brady in the same room? I don't think so.

Hey if you want to believe a grown pro football player is scared of Tom Brady go ahead

3 SB rings, 2 SB MVP's and two regular season MVP's has made several hundred grown pro football players petrified of Tom Brady.

Dude, call me what you want, talk nasty about my mother, but DON'T EVER call me a lawyer. That's just uncalled for.

You saw only what you wanted to see. Period.

Pollard LUNGED at Brady while still engaged with Morris.

Pollard wasn't supposed to LUNGE at Brady at all. Period. It's called the RULES.. Try reading them.

And please stop with your BS that Pollard was blocked into Brady. That is such a lie its pathetic.

Tom Brady Out for the Season - YouTube

Please watch that video and tell me he wasn't still being pushed down by the back. I'm not even arguing whether or not it was breaking the rules, I'm arguing that it wasn't a dirty, cheap play. That looks like a completely natural play with no ill intent whatsoever. He is chopped down, getting back up and while getting up is being blocked back down and yes he "lunges" at Brady but what exactly would you like him to do right there in that situation???? Please watch the video and explain what he could of done in that position and how that wasn't a natural and completely normal reaction. I love how you guys claim I'm "seeing what I want to see." You all are definitely the ones wrong on this one (in terms of it being some cheap shot).

That video speaks volumes. They lost that game. You would have thought they had won. What were they celebrating, I wonder????

....and his comments on it? he sure is upset about having a rule that says he can't hit down there anymore.

You all are idiots... you do realize that video is a joke and it even says it underneath the video on youtube. Those are two completely unrelated videos. It wasn't after that game.

And moderator if you're gonna go around hilariously editing posts, why not edit the guy that threw the first shot?

So lets see him trash him in public with him present then. It's easy when the target isn't there.

Cheap shot or not, Pollard was an @$$hole before the hit, an @$$hole during the hit, an @$$hole since the hit, an @$$hole until he dies and an @$$hole when he goes to hell. Then, he'll simply be Bernard Pollard again forever - and he'll still be an @$$hole.

ok, mea culpa on the video. The question remains. Why is he so upset about having to comply with the so called "pretty boy Brady rule"? Clearly he thinks hitting the knees is a tragically lost tradition.

Edit. On the day the play took place he reacted to make a play. I'll give you that. My problem is his sentiment that if the rule wasn't there he'd want to do it all again based on his comments.
