highly doubt that many...i've seen pittsburgh in gillette/foxboro every time they've played here since 92, including playoffs, and they've never had more fans than the NYJ, Giants, which is to say a few thousand....maybe 3,000....

You sound/read like an irrelevant Steelers fan....

Over 20,000 Steeler Fans at SAN FRANCISCO game in December.

From 49'ers fan site:

20k+. Probably closer to 25-30k, or 50% of the crowd.

In my experience, fans eager to watch their teams on the road tend to find their seats earlier than the locals. I'm expecting the many still-empty seats at Candlestick to fill with mostly 49ers fans. Still, it's looking like this game will rival the 49ers' game against Dallas for most visiting fans at Candlestick.

Steelers travel better than anyone. Steelers, Bears, Cowboys, and Packers always have turnouts ANYWHERE. Its just not at the stick. Watch any Pittsburgh away game and you will see tons of Steeler fans week in and week out. Its not just a "San Francisco" thing. It happens all across the country when it comes to those 4 teams.

More Steeler fans in attendance than 49ers fans.

I immediately smelled a Squeeler troll yesterday...but after looking at his prior posts....he seems like a Pats fan.

Doesn't really matter. Squeelers haven't beaten the Patriots in the playoffs since the 90's (and that was a gift - bs roughing the passer on Kordell)

With the tight money supply, and the fact that they have probably mortgaged almost everything they could by now and maxed out the sixteen CC's, what's left to raise cash for the games? Sell their babies? Pimpin'? Selling drugs? Only Philly fans are worse than Steelers fans. Throw in Penn State and you've got to think Three Mile Island did more damage to the population down there than they are letting on. Either that or coal fumes and/or inbreeding.

there are a lot...i mean a lot of tickets on stub hub ect...they will be everywhere if we play them...F that..buy all the tickets people!

Exactly. Steelers fans will buy up tickets from scalper sites in droves and they'll show up in the low-5 figures.

If they make it here.

if this game will be playied i expect too a large number of Steelers fans - seems they follows the team with heavy numbers everywhere they play

They should have road blocks on rt1 looking for steelers gear if we play them

I don't remember a lot of Steelers fans here for the 96 divisional round.

I think it is safe to say that if the Steelers come here the secondary market value of tickets will be higher than for Denver or Cinci and that there will be signficantly more Steelers fans than there would be Broncos or Bengals.

I think Steelers fans by and large are good fans. They have a classy organization in Pittsburgh. That said, I have an issue with them twirling those f-cking towels in OUR stadium, or wherever they visit. It's disrespectful to host fans and the host team. Suffice to say that anyone seated near me next week twirling one of those damn things stands a good chance of wearing it as a noose.

Go Broncos. :rocker:
Go Bengals. :rocker:

so pissed i miss both games tonight..**** work

The new online source for tix that the Steelers fans prefer is ironically a company founded by former frat brothers from Dartmouth living in the metro Boston area looking to go to Red Sox and Celtics games.

SEATGEEK.COM

SeatGeek Helps Online Ticket Buyers Beat the Scalpers - BusinessWeek

It's what I'll be using to purchase my next ticket.

It'll be interesting how many fans in Denver are routing for the Steelers.

Shameless plug

It's my nephew who is the founder

I do

It was such a pleasure, play after play looking over at the yellow flag bast ids, slinking deeper and deeper into their seats as the Pats pummeled Kordell and Drew and Curtis racked up the yards right from the opening series with no letup. I said nothing just turned around and looked at the guys. Great game (once the fog and gunpowder smoke cleared).

Money no object: Last year's Super Bowl crowd overwhelmed with a sea of yellow at $3000 a pop.

Not the same thing at all. Super Bowl tickets are always more. Plus you don't have season ticket holders of the home team to compete with. You also know weeks in advance that the team is going to play, in this case you only know less than a in advance and that is if they even play there.

I consider you a very good poster, but you're wrong about the Steelers being a classy organization. Their fans are largely d-bags, their ownership thinks they invented football and their players are thugs. They suck.

Their fans ARE pretty annoying, but you gotta respect the hell out of how consistent they've stayed competitive. Their formula remains largely unchanged since the 70's, especially on D.

As most of my fellow military members can tell you, Steeler fans are EVERYWHERE. My theory is Western/Central PA is such a poor American area; most of the people got the hell out of Pittsburgh, Mechanicsburgh, Gettysburgh, and every other crappy dying town they lived in. They spread their black and yellow bullsh!t all over America.

Also, yes; most Steeler fans are complete d-bags. My wife's friend is married to one...the first time I met him was Christmas night when they came to dinner at our house and the jerkoff had the nerve to talk **** about the Pats stuff around our house from the moment he walked in. Yeah, he will never set foot in this house again.
